I do babysitting at a reasonable price. You don't know me but feel free to do a background check or whatever you need to do. I charge $2 and hour for up to 2 kids. Anything over 2 kids is an additional $1 per child per hour. Feel free to contact me at 850-346-7310. I do have a job but hours are really low right now so I have tons of time. I usually work 1 day a week.

Thanks Megan Pearl Mcneal. I'm full for that age group. My friends have registered in home daycares and both currently have openings. Please contact Brittney Danielle Miller or Tisha Wilson Rice.

I feel like I've called just about every daycare center in town. Does anyone know of a center that has availability?

It is hard right now. I called a few and one said they are having issues finding employees. They scheduled 3 interviews and no one showed up. I'm not sure if this is the case for all of them but I bet it plays a part.
Edit: I just wanted to add look into churches. Most large churches seem to offer a program. You may not be religious but it could be something that will hold you over until you can get a slot.
Also, please check out this site to search for providers and contact them to help you find one. The lady I spoke to was so nice and helpful. https://www.elcescambia.org/ParentResources.aspx
One last but very important thing. Review the county's inspection reports of local daycares. Some have been written up for serious things like beating kids with sticks or safety violations. If you contact the agency above, they will be able to tell you how to look it up.

We ran into this a few years ago and ended up putting our son into a private school's Pre K program for less than what we were going to pay for daycare. 3 years later and we couldn't be happier that we did that as he has benefited so much more.

Glad I found this subreddit. Would anyone recommend a private daycare ran by the churches? I’m also looking for places

What age group? Most of the Catholic schools have openings in pre-K as far as I know. Sacred Heart is in East Hill. St. John’s, which is a little outside of downtown, has K3 also. I don’t know about openings, but Episcopal Day School goes down to I think 1 or 2 year olds. A lot of these don’t start until August, though. First Presbyterian is excellent (went there as a kid and daughter went there pre-COVID), but I don’t know about their openings. A friend got her 3 year old in a fews ago.
