Rebecca, Congrats on studying in Chiang Mai! When you settle on the basic mat, I would recommend giving clients a little loft and warmth with a basic poly-fleece mattress pad on your mat and under your sheets. Mine is the size of a full mattress. This cools in summer and warms in winter. Here in upstate NY, I also use a twin sized electric mattress warmer in cold weather. If you prefer not working on electric warmers, you can turn it off when treating clients. Hope this is helpful, Pam at Bamboo Thai Massage

I would decide whether you plan to be mostly traveling for massage or will you have one stable place to be giving? The cotton thai massage mats from sun & moon work great for a stable place not having to schlep it around. For traveling to locations NOTHING beats the Lotus Palm travel mat, I have it and it is SUPER lightweight AND unbelievable comfortable. I will never schlep around a cotton futon again, OMG. I have the basic Lotus Palm mat and the carrying bag (more so to protect it from any dirt in my trunk). It is also just as comfy for studio massages, just need folded blankets as the 'wings' for your kneeling. http://www.lotuspalm.com/mats

I think it is sort of personal preference. Cotton ones are heavier and get flattened easier, I think. www.matsmatsmats.com also has international shipping and thai mats (again, cotton).

For drinks The Pensacola Yacht (requires membership) and Jackon's and Global Grill downtown. Doctors, lawyers or Indian Chief's lol. Weatherford will best to find about your hiking needs or they will direct you along with out fitting you. Rode plenty of horses back in the day but my stables are closed, but would be and easy one to check probably through feed stores or I can check. Don't know what your social interest are but there is always something going on and downtown is crazy, wild busy. Great lunch and supper choices all about town. Hate it when someone says there's nothing to do - they must live under a rock. Finally welcome home, you're going to love it. Oh, do you need anything else - . a realtor, yard man. No I don't do this as a living - am 72 and just enjoy making people happy the easy way - recommendations.
Is there any Yoga or Pilates classes in the West Pensacola area? Would love to get back into it.
Jennifer M. replied:
Ever'man Cooperative Grocery & Cafe - isn't in West Pensacola (its Downtown), but they do offer a ton of these classes often for Free or Low Cost. In case anyone was wondering.:)
Millie M. replied:
Corrine Sanders Community Center has a once-a-week class, but is $10/class -- a little pricey for one hour!
