I can give you a touch of obvious advice after some remodeling experience. Always use a registered contractor. It may be a bit more expensive but well worth it in the end. And if there is trouble, which in my case there was, the BBB is your friend. I know it's a pain but a log of what was promised and what really happened will help. Life shouldn't have to be this way but I have learned through bitter experience that there are a lot of contractors who don't know their ass from page 8. Make you selections based on the experience of others, as you seem to be doing. IMHO Reviews are useless. For every glowing reference there is a disaster. Good luck!
