Np, La Quinta are just okay, some better, some worse, but pets are always free. Super 8 & Motel 6 fall in the same category. $10 per pet fee here http://american-inn-suites-childress.magnusonhotels.com/

Along your route, you can also check out KOA' s with cabins. Usually have pet friendly cabins, costs about the same as a motel room. Showers are on site, that is if you packed some towels! Many other RV parks also have cabins. www.koa.com

Hotel Astor and the Country Claire Inn and Pub right across the street. Hit the Hofbrau Haus too and the safehouse. There are so many great bars in That town. Fourth Base is also an awesome bar with gourmet food.
