Sam, just posted this on my recommendation page too since you made me think of it: If you haven't already tried them, Selena (aka Selenita) on Wanaque Ave in Pompton Lakes was pretty good. Authentic homemade, nice portions and reasonable. It's been awhile, but I think they're still there. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/selenita-restaurant-pompton-lakes?select=SuhttAtQPoKzQ569 bKhguw#SuhttAtQPoKzQ569 bKhguw

Ok.... so I'd say Brick Lane Curry is seriously amazing. Just don't ask for spicy cause mild is spicy. Bhoj in Elmwood park is very good as is Spice Grill in Fairfield. However both of them are inconsistent and that isn't ideal. Still very good... some days. There are a million places in Parsipanny and Fairfield area up 46 I love Indian. My newest yum... Trader Joe's Paneer and or buttered chicken and their garlic naan. Better than some restaurants. I sometimes add shrimp to the and add some butter on the naan. Amazing.

one government always, Pompton Plains is a section within Pequannock Township. and the south end pharmacy wa Toubs, my father's brother's owned a deli next to it back in the 60's.

Tim Farrell also taught swim lessons for many years. I can picture the pizza place but I just can't think of the name. I think there's a Papa John's there now.
Paul D. replied:
And the poorer stepsister thing is a joke. I lived in the Pompton Plains and it was just my address and zip code. When people asked me where I was from I said Pequannock. The only thing I get upset about is when they confuse Pompton Lakes with Pompton Plains. NOW THAT IS INSULTING!

Plains Pharmacy
Colleen M. replied:
I agree with you both.....when showing houses in town that's the big question, what's the difference? i'm always asked. I proudly tell them that I grew up down by the river and then up past the airport but best thing is that no matter where you went to grammer school you all met at Pequannock Valley Middle School. It's one Town, One Tax Bill too!
Can someone please tell me the name of the deli that took over the space that The Lantern Shop occupied (where the Little Food Cafe is now)? The name escapes me...
Wendy N. replied:
The Lantern shop was in a different space than Plains Pantry. I believe the Lantern Shop was where the new Barber is. They were both operating at the same time, so they couldnt be in the same spot.

My location was off but I got the names that eluded me.:-) There was a bridal shop on the Pequannock side. Bernadine's Bridal Shop. Owner was a horrible woman! Remember working there, Christine Roessler?
