Hi, can anyone suggest a preschool for us? Area jln duta, segambut dalam. Would need a preschool that can care for our daughter in the afternoon too (full day)....
Jasmin C. replied:
No link lah Shannon. Two kindies I like. One is the UCSI CDC. Yeah, you heard me right. UCSI has a kindergarten at Taman Billion Cheras. The place is run by one Chinese lady and one British man. The children's toilets are so adorable. And they had a full fledged kitchen for the kids to learn cooking. John was there for a holiday camp when he was 3. They planted stuff, play at the playground outside, read books. Fun, fun, fun. The other is the Sri Perdana kindergarten at Taman Cheras. When I first visited the place, I met up with the owner, who is a young datuk. I asked him if there was a type of curriculum they used. The guy said, NO. The kids learn whatever they want. Huh? At that time, I only know what the regular kindergarten teach, which are rote learning through books, more letter writing, and more homework. If I knew what I know today, my kids would have been there, but then, I don't live in Cheras anymore but way across town. The school fees are expensive. It was RM450 per month the last time I checked AND no daycare in the afternoon. Rich parents must be able to pick their kids up after school at noon. But oh the children love it. I was at my children's pediatrician when I talked to some young kids from there. They WANT to go to school, even when they are SICK with fever. One boy was begging the mom to please send him to school. School and learning should be like that for children, where we can put them at some place to learn, and they truly enjoy being there.
