I've had exactly the same problem. When there's plenty of work around for tradespeople it is always difficult to find anyone who will do "domestic" plumbing. My theory is they are nearly all out sub-contracting on site, which pays more, and so they don't need the work. Try Plum-it in Burbage. I've used them several times and although they are busy, and they are not 24/7, they do respond and they do good work. http://www.plum-it.co.uk/index.php. Talk to anyone and you'll discover that it's nationwide problem. It's no surprise that John Lewis will soon be offering plumbing and related domestic services. No, I couldn't believe it either! Good luck with that John Lewis.
