Dos Salsas in Cedar Park

Kecia Gonzalez has got you. Tell her what's up Kecia
John H. replied:
Also, you should fallow James Greenhaw for the most accurate weather conditions. He's kind of famous around these parts. He's maxed out on his friends so you have to just click follow. I know this is off-topic but he is super helpful to people new to Central Texas
Karl R. replied:
In Georgetown, El Monumento http://elmonumentogeorgetown.com
Kori P. replied:
Coming from AZ. I was sooo spoiled with Mexican food options. El Rincon is great, so is Dos Salsas in Georgetown.

Hi again! Looking for suggestions for restaurants or places for newcomers to eat? Also, best place to shop for healthy groceries? TIA
Amber O. replied:
In Pflugerville- Baris has great Italian food. Pecan Street Deli has the best hamburgers and breakfast. Casa Garcias has great Mexican food and the best Queso! Looking for home cooking, go to Springhill, it's fried everything, catfish, chicken, chicken fried steak etc.
Karen S. replied:
Pfarmers Market is Tuesday 3-7 pm. Veggies, breads, meat and eggs and Chix from pastured animals. Lots of other yummies, plus a gelato stand.
Kathy M. replied:

Omega B. replied:
It's not in Pflugerville but very close-by and very healthy eating and much better than Soup and Salad...it's called SALATA. Yelp reviews-- http://www.yelp.com/biz/salata-austin
Merle W. replied:
Cele Store is wonderful for great Texas barbecue and Good Luck Grill is another place for catfish, hamburgers, and chicken fried steak. El Rincon is a Mexican food restaurant that we enjoy from time to time!
Brandi B. replied:
The Round Rock Sprouts is pathetic. HEB is decent but for pastured eggs and other foodie items, I go to the Central Market on 40 th and Lamar. Cheaper than Whole Paycheck.

Haven't tried it yet but I keep hearing about Fire and Ice by the Wal-Mart & Home Depot off 35. Not sure if it's east coast or Chicago? I'm personally from New England and prefer Yaghis but my husband is from the Chicago area so our home is forever divided! Hahaha
Cynthia N. replied:
I hear homeslice in Austin is THE best place to go. Here? Yaghi's not bad

Class Garcia & Lupe Tortilla
Norene B. replied:
Casa Garcia is the best! I don't care for Morelias in Stone Hill. Rio Grande would be a second choice.
Rikki A. replied:
We like Casa Garcia.
Crystle L. replied:
None of the Mexican restaurants here have good real mexican food. I havent found one great salsa or a place that doesnt deep fry their potatoes or use canned beans. Lupe Tortilla is the very best around and as close to authentic as you are going to find. They make their tortillas and homemade beans. Salsa is great and chips are serves with free charro beans. Their carne asada is to die for. Casa Garcias, el rincon, chuchos and mexico tipico dont waste your time its hit or miss and like i said salsa not great chips not cooked fresh, beans not authentic, and i find it very hard to actually taste freshness in their guac, lettuce and sauces.

El Rincon!

I need some recommendations please:) My 70 year old mom is coming into town and I want to show her cute little Austin area towns.
Are Wimberley and Fredericksburg good...
Pam N. replied:
Marble Falls is cool too
Tricia S. replied:
Marble Falls has some great shops and it is one street so it is easy to maneuver. While you are there, you can go to pie happy hour at The Bluebonnet Cafe and then hit up the winery on the way there or home in Spicewood. Wimberly is wonderful but it is a lot of walking. Fredricksburg is awesome and there are many wineries along the drive and you could detour through Luckenbach.
Patricia M. replied:
The Georgetown square is full of shops and food. Lauries is good for lunch, or, a little off the square, is the Monument cafe. Georgetown is a closer place to start. Have fun!
Michele G. replied:
Fredricksburg! And stop at Fiesta Winery. There is also a candy shop there that has candies with liquor in them. Bring and ice chest to transport them! Yum

Texan Cafe in Hutto

Marble Falls is a nice drive, quaint shops, and the Pie Cafe
Sandra W. replied:
In Marble Falls there's a restaurant called On the Rocks which overlooks Lake LBJ. Reminds me a bit of The Oasis but the food is wayyyy better and it's smaller. Great for sunset! As far as wineries the most fun and best is Fat Ass Winery in Stonewall (I believe).
Bea A. replied:
I'm new to the area and my daughter who lives there took me around to some places that were nice. There's something called The Boardwalk in Austin which is very pretty and scenic and you get to see downtown Austin in the distance as well as a nice walk along the water. The Vineyard at Florence in Florence was very nice and they have cheese and crackers, sandwiches and salads and is very scenic. They do wine tasting's and it's a nice little drive.
Karla H. replied:
Georgetown, Boerne, Gruene
Jennifer B. replied:
Flat Creek Winery out 1431. Then a stroll in Marble Falls. On the water. Not crazy crowded like Fredericksburg.
