Where are your friend/your friend’s accordion? Liberty Bellows in Philadelphia does appraisals, even at a distance, though you probably get a more accurate answer by bringing it in! Their website has details. www.libertybellows.com Any place that specializes in accordions can give you better info than a general sort of music store.

Depends on where you live. In Illinois the Chicago Accordion Players Club has a lot of experts. But in general you could hue look for clubs like that in your State or Provence or whatever.
