check out Tech Girlz - Not sure if they have a camp, but they offer great Free classes on coding and your daughter is the perfect age. http://www.techgirlz.org/ Just an FYI - Any EP Parents I have updated the Website and have included information like this on it (will do an area to cover camps, as well)

Penn State Abington. Not 100% sure if they have coding, but there are a lot of science related options. Also not coding, but NASTAR in Southampton has some great space/rocket options too.

We were at CP about 4 years ago & headed there again this July. What grade will your daughter be in? If elementary, she would attend an on-base school & our experiences have been positive ones with very little issues. For middle & high school, Fallbrook is a decent district, I do not recommend Oceanside for upper grades. You can check housing area school districts by going to http://www.lincolnmilitary.com/camppendleton/ then choose your neighborhood on the right side of page, then choose "Area Information" and that should let you see which schools are zoned for that housing area.

Since you have an IEP also check the students with disablities API's San Onofre is 663, North Terrace is 706, Santa Margarita 747 (near front gate), Stuart mesa 743, Mary Fay 659

I live near Mary Fay and my daughter loves it there all the teachers are great they go the little extra .. Mary Fay has many housing areas its serves deluz O'Neil San Luis ray and mesa... I know a few people who live in San o and they like it too its just up to you looking into it go to greatschools.org and look at the schools ratings and test scores and other info

Actually San O 1 is beautiful housing, we lived there till March. I loved it. We moved down to San O 3 since we are having another baby, and we love it here too, you can PM if you would like. I know all about it.
Delia E. replied:
Both San O and Mary Fay are k-8 schools under the fallbrook school district. Living near Mary fay will have you in closer proximity to the main commissary, exchange and Naval Hospital. You will be about 15-25 minutes from I-5. Most people that we know that live in the areas that would go to Oceanside schools opt for private school.

Dang I just wrote a lot and it got erased. http://api.cde.ca.gov/reports/page2.asp?subject=API&level=School&submit1=submit Ok at that link type in the school names and compare. There isn't a "big difference". I'm not a fan of CA schools or the Oceanside school board but the school near front gate is good. People that say Onofre is a huge difference probably live there. Last year Onofres API was 862 and North Terrace was 855. Only a 7 point difference. Not sure about all the other schools but you can check. My son goes to North Terrace. They have a brand new school opening next year and a new principal who has made a lot of good changes. My son had an IEP. Just graduated out of it this year. The principal himself is involved. Not like other schools we've been at where they'd have no clue. All in all I don't know what would qualify as a "huge difference". My sons had excellent teachers. Maybe we're lucky. North Terrace recieved honors again as a State distinguished school. Only 387 of the more than 5,500 public elementary schools in the state were recognized as “distinguished.”

Lenchik, my kids went to Somerton Springs camp on County line and Bustleton. Many people like it, my kids were OK there. They have a swim team if you want to sign him up too. Check it out. The price was very reasonable. Very close to home, many kids from our area go there. Here is a contact : Donna (215) 355-0123
