For photographer... check out Jennifer Nagel (my sister in law to-be). She's amazingly talented, fun to work with, and is affordable. Her portfolio is fantastic and she has great examples on her blog (including my surprise proposal and formal engagement photos). http://www.jennifernagelphotography.com/

Hello Philly PAS'ers My niece is getting married (yay!) in the Philly area. We are looking for photographers and DJ's. Any suggestions?
Jill W. replied:
I'm using photosbywendy for my wedding. Photosbywendy.net

DJ-I really liked this woman Kim from "No Macarena" in Fairmount. I wanted to hire her for my wedding but there were logistical problems. Photos - I used Laura Novak out of Wilmington, DE. Laura herself is pricey but amazing. Becca, Laura's assistant shot our wedding she a bit more affordable. Aside from loving our photos, Becca was just great to deal with and spend time with on our wedding day. She's calm, professional and has a great sense of humor. They are on the web.

DJ Davy Dave. He did my sister's wedding and is my wedding DJ! He's awesome and has an amazing price! ETA: he is well under $1000!
I'm getting married in Northern Delaware and we're looking at Spinjocs. They're down in lower DE, but it's a hop jump skip to Philly... The starting price for their packages are 1200. They're really nice too.

[DN Entertainment](https://www.weddingwire.com/biz/dn-entertainment-philadelphia/9 b975 c2808 a50 a6 f.html) This is an acquaintance of mine, and he is DJing my wedding. I have attended events he has DJ'd, and he's just so much fun! He also takes TONS of photos, so you get that on top of the music. He doesn't now, however, provide lighting.

I'm using DJ Joe Bene who just started doing his own thing after leaving the well-respected Steve & Company and he's impressed the hell out of me so far! He really seems to know what he's doing ([WeddingWire Reviews] (https://www.weddingwire.com/biz/the-dj-joe-bene-swedesboro/04009 e719685063 e.html)) and has 20-odd years of experience. Also below $1000 (somewhere around $800). He provides his own lighting and dance floor lighting, but has a bunch of vendor connections for anything else you'd need. Also he uses a website for all song requests and no-gos which is really handy and fun.

I can't recommend Ben Ostroff from EBE enough http://www.ebetalent.com/p/benjamin-ostroff/ He did my BIL's wedding back in 2012 and he was AMAZING. People still talk about it to this day saying they had the best DJ of any wedding they have been to. He is going to be our DJ next week and I couldn't be happier. He also recognized and remembered us from the wedding back then before we introduced ourselves!

My DJ from my wedding was beyond AWESOME! He lives in NY but I know he travels regularly for weddings and parties. We went with Irina as our MC for our wedding and it was a great decision. http://www.alexedge.com/

Sounds by Shelly! I've done a few weddings with her actually. Loved her so much I hired her for mine. SoundsbyShelly.com.
megpat replied:
We picked 4Most Sounds with DJ Will Stephens and his wife Norma. While our wedding hasn't happened yet, they have been absolutely wonderful to work with so far - so on top of everything, very much "you're the boss" while also still giving us his expert opinion. Definitely 5/5 so far! Plus Norma is retired and likes to tag along because "she loves weddings" and they got married later in life, so she's like an extra day-of coordinator for free! I'm planning to use her to help wrangle people for group pictures :)
