I love Dr. Kristin Walters at Spinal Care Chiropractic. She really takes the time to listen and works with a variety of approaches. She doesn't waste your time and will refer you to a different specialist as appropriate if you are not getting results from chiropractic methods. She has a sincere interest in helping you find relief. Also Kayla does amazing deep tissue work as a massage therapist. They have offices in Phoenixville and Collegeville. http://spinalcare.com/

I go for Acupuncture at Gateway Bodyworks.Kelly is amazing, and massage with Lisa or Evelyn.Really helps. Also,Gary Rendina for chiro. He is right behind Gateway Shopping Center in Wayne.Very good and very honest, does not play the chiro game.
Marybeth M. replied:
WOW, if you are talking about Dr. Ahmed, the man is a true healer. He has been spot on with me as well, and I went to other chiropractors listed above for SEVEN years without much relief. Physical therapy and treatment from Dr. Ahmed has me pain free most of the time. when I am stubborn and over do it, I pay the price, but I am still able to recover very quickly. BTW, one month of treatment for a serious back problem is very little commitment to recovery. You really need to learn what is wrong with your back, what aggravates it, what relieves pain....etc. that can take time. Good luck to you, I wish you well.
Jaci O. replied:
Angela, I am a licensed massage therapist who specializes in pain relief. I have helped many people recover from sciatic pain. I also work at gateway on Tuesdays in addition to my own place the rest of the week. Go to www.jaciyeager.com to read Yelp reviews and testimonials. Good luck with whatever path you choose - you shouldn't have to live with pain.

Try a Physiatrist (Physical Medicine). They will do an MRI and inject the spot under a "scope" for relief. There is a group in Phoenixville.
Dina J. replied:
HI Angela D'Antonio, I have a lot of the same issues. I agree with Jenn Zuck Duerr that Dr. Livingston is good, but the overall issue with chiropractors in general is that they do not fix the problem - they just keep treating it. Have you tried a gentle yoga class? Or try lying on your stomach gently, and then pushing yourself up on your hands while stretching your back? Just some ideas. Also, I notice that the weather (especially humidity) is very irritating to my back, and eating sugar doesn't help either (which sucks since I love sweets!) Good luck!
Dina J. replied:
Also, since you mentioned acupuncture, there is a free or low-cost community acupuncture I believe at Gateway Bodyworks in Phoenixville. I haven't tried it, but I've had a massage there and it was excellent.

You need an MRI and to see a pain management specialist. Dr. Chapis in Pottstown was great for me. A Chiro is treating the symptom, but not the problem. Injections worked for me, cured my sciatica. If there is physical damage you need it addressed.
I also want to say how much I like Dr. Ahmed by Harpoon Louie's. I'm sorry he isn't working out for you, and I hope you find a solution to your problems. He's always been spot on with my problems and was able to recommend exercises/lifestyle adjustments to help (meaning I need his services less).

Dr. Brandie at Bloom in King of Prussia is not only very likeable but is very highly rated, takes multiple kinds of insurance although it is a pain and she doesn't have to, and will GI above and beyond to find the issue even if it means she has to refer out the business. Nice to see so many people in our area utilize, and love, our local chiropractors. I have been a chiropractor for 33 years, live in Phoenixville, practice a bit far (Harleysville), but am so happy to see this as an active post. There are many different techniques, many different plans, many styles...but the bottom line is to find someone you trust and connect with. Call and schedule an "interview" with some of these people listed, or any of the other local doctors (Jeff Snyder DC is amazing as well). Good luck! Hope you and your husband find a great chiropractor!

Re: Dr Imram Ahmed Went to see him this morning for neck & back pain. He seemed very intuitive in diagnosing and treating my symptoms. He does not come across as a snake oil salesman, which is something I cant say about some other Chiropractors I've been to in the past. Pretty much did a hands on assessment, the roller table thing to loosen up, and then some targeted manipulations. My stiff neck is feeling about 90% better and my tension headache is GONE! The lower back is about 50% better. Not perfect, but definitely better than it was. His neck manipulation was fairly gentle and no feeling of vertigo afterwords. Bottom line is I feel much better now than I did before going in to see him. This topic was very helpful and timely for me as I've been a hurting puppy lately. Thanks, folks!
