Not Valley vet, Dr. Shriber never diagnosed our cat with arthritis and failed to diagnose mega colon. He used to be good but now he just doesn't care. Go to Valley Forge animal medical center. Dr. Farmand is thoughough and very caring.

And we ended up having to put our kitty down due to Valley vets negligence!!

I've been going to Banfield in the Petsmart up in Pottstown for 8 years now. They are amazing. They have a wellness plan and when I signed up I basically pay 10 dollars a month but EVERYTHING is covered. Shots, meds, check ups and great discounts on surgerys. Dr Fry is amazing and her staff is wonderful! They always remember my pets name when we walk in. It was a great option for me because then I'm not paying chunks of money once a year for their checkups and shots it was spread out.

Been going to Valley Vet with Dr. Schreiber for many years and love him. Some people have said they think the prices are high, but I don't think so.

Valley Vet on Main St. 610-935-8110. Been taking my pugs there for years, and now my rottie puppy. Great vets, great staff and techs. Always helpful and kind. And, I have had a couple of emergencies with my one pug. A few of my neighbors take their pets there also.

If your new little babies are healthy, the Banfield Vet plans mentioned above are wonderful. The price can't be beat for all the basic needs (shots, spaying, etc). I use the Downingtown location for our pup, which is full of wonderful staff members! However, the rest of our pets go to Valley Vet and we wouldn't take them anywhere else! Once the puppy plan runs out with Banfield, our pup will be transferring to Valley Vet, too. Dr. Schreiber and his staff are absolutely wonderful people!

I've always gone to Valley Vet, but I do think they are expensive. I like Dr. Shrieber, but haven't always had the best when it comes to some of the other vets there

We use Valley Vet regularly for our two cats. I'd say if it's something more urgent to try metropolitan. My dog had surgery there and they were excellent!

Our 17 year old cat gets fluids every week for kidney failure.. many say we are crazy, but he is still here AFTER A YEAR AND HALF !! You likely can do it at home, but we truck from Malvern to Thorndale ( Critter Care )... easier for them to do it than us ( Julius is a bit of a handful, even at 17!) Good Luck!

I love the male vet at Eagle vet on Byers road in Chester Springs. I simply ask him what he would do if it was his pet on your budget. It sounds like ur stray is diabetic. Good Luck. Also if he's not eating have his teeth been check to see if there is a dental issue keeping him from eating. If it's wet food u can Warm the food in the microwave so it's smell is more intense.

Valley vet misdiagnosed my dog and refused to take X-rays after I requested them. Ended up having to take my dog to the e-vet for treatment of a minor break because I spent so much time spinning my wheels with Valley. Phoenixville Animal Hospital "accidentally" euthanized a friend's dog. We go to Coventry because we value our pets.

I admit that I had problems with the other dr at Valley Vet, but Dr. Schreiber has been amazing and is always on top of my dog's issues. He leaves no stone unturnwd when examining him.

I've been taking my cats to Phoenixville Vet for over five years. The staff is caring, thoughtful and helpful. Dr Thompson is who I generally see but I've also had interactions with the other drs there as well. Seriously I have nothing but good things to say.

I have worked for Gateway Animal Hospital for close to 20 yrs. but we are a ways away and at the time aren't taking any new clients. I would rec. Whitelands Vet in Malvern. I think the vets in Pville are probably fine as far as care but I think they overcharge for many things.

I also worked at West Chester Animal Hospital (Dr. Perkins) prior to Gateway - they too are wonderful but a distance away.

Limerick Vet Hospital has been our go to for 4 dogs, now. They are caring and it's not hard to get an appointment. Good luck!

FWIW, if you find yourself needing those emergency services I cannot recommend the Metropoliran in Trooper more highly. The one in Frazer? Well, my mom said if you can't say anything nice... For regular care I concur with Bri: Dr. Farmand definitely has a caring demeanor and is as thorough and explanatory as you want. He is not the cheapest option. But we think he's great.

I just moved from pville and cant sAy enough about Dr. Schreiber at Valley Vet. He is the best.

Valley Vet on Main St. Dr. Schreiber is great with the animals. He was so compassionate recently when my 6 year old greyhound fractured her leg. He saw something on the x Ray that showed bone cancer but b/c of her young age, he casted her for 6 weeks in hopes he was wrong. Turns out he was right and was so great right up to the very end. I highly reccomend him.

Phoenixville Animal Hospital is kind of expensive but they took care of my pooch for all of his 14 yrs. No complaints and they really helped me navigate his last few months which I needed help with.

Phx Animal Hospital. They took great care of our cat. When it was finally his time (which happened to be about an hour after closing), our doc met us back at the office so that we didn't have to take him to the emergency vet. They were so compassionate. However, my mother in law isn't having the best experience right now with her dog. It's taking her 2 weeks to find out who can do bloodwork on the dog and the vet she sees only works one day a week and won't call her back.

ValleyVet BUT ask for one of the girl VMDs as the main guy Dr Schriber is a SOUR PUSS!!

Valley Vet was great until we started questioning the cost/necessity of the $$$ tests they wanted to run. Instead of working with our budget, I was chided as a lax caregiver for my cat. Went to Phoenixville Animal Hospital instead. Not only were they wonderful, but they also confirmed that the expensive test was unnecessary.

From my past experience for ultrasound work, specifically: VRC seems to have a top-shelf staff and very nice facility. But, man alive...spendy. Metropolitan Veterinary Associates, we found, were just as good. Maybe the facility is a little more dog-eared. But the price was *significantly* lower.

No Valley Vet is a regular vet right on Main. My dog had a reaction to shots there and they did not really answer my questions or demonstrate any concern. Another time one of their house cats who wanders the waiting room scratched my daughter until she bled and the vet did not apologize or think that was odd. Coventry understood my concerns about my dog's reaction and offered me some solutions and I love all the staff there.

3 dogs and a cat all go to Schwenksville Vet. Love them!

Care Credit is good to have

Care Credit is unfortunately basically the only thing that vets and human health care options will even consider. I know my credit is awful and I did not get approved for Care Credit, but my friend with average credit was approved for $1K when my cat's treatment was $1400. You can apply online, don't need any vet info, it's just like a credit card. You'll get approved or denied immediately. Good luck to you and your pup!

Valley Vet does not do payment plans. I had my cat there a couple years ago for a bite wound and it ended up costing me $700 and they refused to work with me. Number one reason why I no longer go to that vet. They treated me awfully once they found out I didn't have money.

Kind of like Phoenixville Hospital, now that I think about it. Us poor people get the shit end of the stick a lot.
