Can anyone on here recommend a good and reasonablly priced veterinarian? Thanks in advance.
Angela D. replied:
I take my kitties to Harleysville Vet. I love them there and they're not over-priced. I just took my bunnies to Radnor Vet via Luv-n-Bunns rescue to get them neutered, and they're great there, too. I will be checking them out for my cockatiel and proba bly future vet visits for the bunnies. I don't have any pups, but a friend of mine has two and one was hit by a car. She took him to Harleysville and she's the reason why I checked them out. She said they went above and beyond for her pup and he was there a few days. Their vet bill was only a couple hundred bucks for that trip, too. Which basically blew my mind. Check them out. It's a little bit of a drive, but worth it. I was going to Valley Vet and had a bad experience there.
Tom B. replied:
I went to this one for the 1 st time yesterday. I thought they were great. And one of my cat's meds costs 54 cent per pill there. At my previous vet, it was $1.60 per pill. http://www.mypetdoc.com/
Rob P. replied:
Valley vet in phoenixville on main st. Awesome. Great people. And like 40 bucks for a checkup.
Laura S. replied:
We left Phoenixville Animal Hospital after the new owners raised all prices and fired most of the long term staff. Even though they're a block and a half from us, we now go to Coventry Animal Hospital.
Gina G. replied:
No, no she is not if you mean Dr. Castro. Great for routine things if your cats are healthy but her diagnostic skills leave much to be desired.
Gina G. replied:
Amy J. Cullen, do you mean Dr. Ask? Why?
Wendy P. replied:
Diane's Outlet on Rt 100 or Pottsgrove Animal Hospital.
Erik A. replied:
Hello. This is Dr. Erik Ask from Cats Only Veterinary Hosptial. This message is in response to the posts/comments made by Amy Cullen (which have since been deleted). I have not been able to read the posts about myself or my hospital. My recommendati on is to not take the advice of a disgruntled ex-employee of Cats Only and see for yourself why Cats Only exceeds our clients expectations. We invite anyone to call us at (610-279-2887) or visit our website ( catsonlyvethosp.com ) to learn more about our hosptial or our cat specific health care.

My 7 year old dog has been sick for a while with stomach problems. I have taken him to multiple vets in the area but no one seems to know the answer. Can anyone please...
Monica K. replied:
Dr. Gallagher at Phoenixville Animal Hospital

My parents dog and a friend's dog were both allergic to chicken. Their symptoms improved after a diet change. Oh, and I'd recommend Phoenixville Vet on Bridge St. I've never had a bad experience and I've been taking my cats there for years.
Ginger M. replied:
I really like Dr Corinne Thomas - she seems like a very skilled diagostician - a bit of a drive o Downigtown but worth it I think!http://aardvarkanimalhospital.com/aarvark-staff-members.html

Jennifer S. replied:
I love Limerick Veterinary Hospital. They're always so great with my dogs. Also, I had an older dog with health issues and she had stomach problems. Plain rice and chicken broth helped her a ton.
I have been taking my cats to Dr Lata in West Chester for many years. She is great and her prices can't be beat. However one of my cats is traumatised by car rides. ...
John P. replied:
Coventry Animal Hospital Websitehttp://www.coventryanimalhospital.net/ We have been using them for MANY years. Great, caring, professionals.
Michele R. replied:
Barbara Fickinger is awesome!! We love her!!!
Beth F. replied:
A few years ago I heard about Dr. Flickinger through my neighbor and attempted to get in touch with her multiple times and she wouldn't return my calls. I've had issues with wait times at Valley Vet, but you can't beat Dr. Shreiber's knowledge and dedication. I recommend them as well.
Ann M. replied:
I love Dr. Shreiber! When one of my dogs had a serious illness, he researched her problem well beyond the time that I was in the office. He was on the phone with us, after hours, when we had to take her to an emergency clinic.
Austin K. replied:
Valley Vet is absolutely the best, kindest in the Phoenixville area. Good call
Megan S. replied:
We go to Valley Vet. My cat's hate car rides so we went to the closest one. No complaints with them
Marybeth M. replied:
I took my very healthy 9 year old beagle to Dr. Shreiber for annual shots when I first moved to Pville in 2001. 12 hours after receiving his shots my dog was 100% blind. Dr. Sheiber refused to acknowledge that he was blind and said that if I thought he was blind, the UP Vet clinic does some amazing things with blindness. I told him that maybe I would take my father there since no one at Wills Eye Hosp or anywhere else in the world could do anything about HIS blindness. Cure blindness? Really? no thank you. I have never been back since.....just saying, I had a terrible experience! Sorry, I am still a bit bitter even though my beagle buddy has passed on.
Shelli A. replied:
Valley Vet.Very, very good and very kind.As for blindness in a cat,my cat went blind from high blood pressure and Dr Schrieber put him on meds and his sight returned!
Christine R. replied:

I take my cats to Valley Vet on Main St. Great Staff and compared to previous vets I think they are reasonable.
Mike-Darlene P. replied:
Marilyn, We take our highly nervous cat to Valley Vet on Main St. for 15 years now & she does wonderful, it's quiet there, friendly staff - we see Dr. Shreiber, he's very patient, cares!!! We used to go somewhere closer to us - too chaotic, highly recommend them for sure!!!!!!! Upcoming tech Josh also is great, started as a young boy & turning into a great mature assistant to Dr. S.!!
Melody R. replied:
Valley Vet is the best vet in the area....
Marilyn S. replied:
Thanks everyone. Sounds like I should call Valley Vet tomorrow.
Michele R. replied:
I HAVE YOUR SOLUTION...Dr. Barbara Flickinger is a visiting vet. She comes to your home. I have two cats and I would never take them out again because it traumatizes them to much. SHE IS AWESOME!!!!!
Lisa S. replied:
Dr Flickinger for sure. Good rates and she comes to u!!!!
Su G. replied:
I had to change vets too because one cat cannot take car rides. Valley Vet was the closest to my house and I love them. I hav 2 cats and 2 dogs. I highly recommend them.
Donna B. replied:
The young female vets at Valley Vet are great! But stay away from Dr Schriber he can be a bit of a sour puss!!! He will not hesitate to talk down to you !! Especially if you ask a question or state something to the effect of Awful expensive. He is not a friendly person. A good Vet but a nasty sour puss of a human.
Beth F. replied:
My family has been using Valley Vet ever since Dr. Shreiber opened the practice and I couldn't disagree more with the previous comment. He always explains every ailment/procedure in great detail so the client can understand exactly what is going on, and I've always found him to be compassionate while doing so. As an aside, when my parents' cat (who had a multitude of health issues over his last few years) passed away recently he wrote them the most kind, handwritten note telling them how sorry he was. I had left the practice a few years back due to problems with their scheduling and after reading that note I returned to the practice and have since been pleased with his treatment of my senior dog and other animals.
To all my Pa friends!!! Can anyone recommend a very good Vet in the area ???
Chris P. replied:
I've used this one - they are near me and not far from you www.coventryanimalhospital.net

James L. replied:
Robin, take them to the Conshy vet on ridge pike. Whatever you do, don't go to Hickory Vets
Kathy Y. replied:
the only problem with conshohocken is they are VERY hard to get into....I loved the vet, but always had trouble getting hold of someone. I now go to Gulph Mills in KOP....LOVE THEM!
I recently adopted an owner surrender pure JRT. She is 2.5 years old and not spayed. She ended up at the emergency vet with low calcium. Three days later at her checkup...
