London restaurant question - needs to be romantic, serve light bites, and suitable to suggest to someone important who asked you for input - where would you recommend...
Andrew P. replied:
Bob Bob Ricard in Soho has (in my view) the best dining room in London for romantic dinners because you sit in a fantastic dining room with Orient Express-type booths with plenty of privacy, low lighting, relative hush. A couple of folk have mentioned Hakkasan - it's great if you're in the mood for it but it's always packed, you always have to wait at the bar for your table and the deafening club music would rule it out for a romantic eat for me (sorry!). Sister restaurant Yauatcha is a better bet but the tables are still too close together for proper romance. I am willing to accept liability on the BBR recommendation!

Berners Tavern, The Palomar or The Social Eating House. X

Matt, before I saw Gavin Caldwell post I was going to say Andrew Edmunds. Low key. Very nice.
Gavin C. replied:
Le Boudin Blanc in Mayfair and Andrew Edmunds in Soho are both very nice. I could pretend that I'm a regular at these places, but I tend to stick to suburbia these days. In fact I asked a younger and cooler work colleague!
