I cannot recommend Cook Forest enough. 90-120 minute drive depending on speed and traffic. One of my favorite places.

Ohiopyle! The state park campground is great. You can walk to the trails from your campsite, no driving required. There's usually lots of families there and it's very family friendly. There is also a lot of other things to do besides hiking that would be fun for kids (depending on ages), like natural waterslides, rafting, kayaking, swimming, etc.

Pine cove beach club. Is a very nice place we went over memorial day. They have a 1 million gallon swimming pool with 2 water slides a water trampoline diving board 2 slides for younger kids. And a rope swing into the pool. Very nice and quiet I think they have a total of 38 spaces.

The Erie koa is about 2 hours away. They have cabins you can rent, tent sites, whatever you really need. You are a short 10 minute drive to presque isle that has beaches and a water park nearby.

UPDATE: owners have been found.
I have two dogs at my campground that aren't ours. If you know of someone who's missing dogs up here please let them know. They're...
