Thank you to all who sent suggestions! I adapted the conventional Dutch Oven dump cake recipe, and it turned out to be perfect desert for some cool weather fall camping. Here it is: Pumpkin/Pecan Cobbler Recipe Filling Ingredients 1 29 oz. can of pumpkin 1 cups of chopped Pecans 2 cups brown sugar 2 Tbs. pumpkin pie spice 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. salt 4 large eggs 24 oz. cans coconut milk Note: The key thing here is to taste your filling, and adjust your spices and sugar to your taste. Topping Ingredients: 1 box yellow cake mix 1 Tbs. cinnamon 1 stick of butter 1 cup of Pecan halves Instructions: Mix all the Filling Ingredients in large bowl with whisk. Pour liquid into Dutch Oven. Carefully sprinkle dry cake mix on top of pie filling. Sprinkle 1 Tbs of cinnamon on top of cake mix. Slice stick of butter and spread slices onto top of cake mix. Bake at 325 for about 30 min. Note: About 5 minutes before I pulled the coals off, I placed the Pecan halves on top of the cobbler. This allowed them to get slightly toasted without getting burnt.
