SF East Bay BMW mechanic? Hi guys,
Can anyone recommend a reliable and affordable mechanic in the East Bay/Vallejo area?
I just got a 2013 BMW K1600GTL with 44,000...

Not that this helps that much but Desmoto Sport in San Francisco knows boxer engines well. I believe the guy from Bavarian Cycle Works is working there now (as his shop was closed due to eviction from development of the parcel). I bring my R9 t there.
Rubcionnnnn replied:
I haven't been there, but there's a BMW Motorcycles of Concord, where they work on BMW bikes.

All I know is the BMW dealership in San Rafael, Marin is a good one

I work on BMWs, and live in the east bay. Can give you a comparatively low rate, if you’re comfortable with taking your bike to an individual, rather than a shop. Drop me a line, if interested.

Try [LG Moto](http://lgmotoperformance.com) in Richmond. He used to operate out of a warehouse around the corner from me a few years back and I felt lucky to have a BMW authorized mechanic a block away. Good guy, super knowledgeable.
I need to buy car tires for the first time. Should I go to Costco? Buy online and ship to my mechanic? Any recommendations?

Thanks for the advice! Sounds like Big O Tires has the most votes!
Eric W. replied:
Def. the Big O in Dublin, but first do some internet research to familiarize yourself with the particular tires they carry.
Van A. replied:
Costco or try American Tire on the corner of Hopyard and 580. They are very reasonable and fast
Dennis B. replied:
I researched online, found the tires I wanted, and then called around locally to see who had them in stock. Prices were competitive, if not a little better, than online (when you take the shipping into account). I found that Livermore Auto Group (Ford Dealer) had the best deal, and good service too.
Jay B. replied:
I have had very good experience with Americas Tire Store on Dublin Blvd
ZeroBs M. replied:
To be honest, Costco doesn't have much to offer that the competitors don't. Americas' Tire has always treated me well - even when my last set of tires wore on the edges prematurely due to mechanical issues. They met me halfway on the cost of 2 new tire...See More
