Most MDs only see the "fix" they learned in med school and now practice. Integrative medicine MDs, osteopaths and people like my chiropractor with all her "tools" incorporate multiple avenues in their treatment!

My hips are awful. I don't want surgery on them though as long as I can walk around in my house. Too many bendy friends have had surgery after surgery and each time they are worse than before. They truly have extreme difficulty just getting to th e loo. If the docs cut out bone and socket and make artificial replacements, what do we do when those don't word? Try another one? No, I really don't want that as long as I can get around a little Avoiding surgery might be a mistake or it might be the very very reason I can go make a cup of coffee and get in and out of the bath and things like that. Do your research and remember that we tend to fall in the small group that has a poor outcome with surgery. If it's absolutely essential then go ahead with it and good luck. Mom and Grandma have terrible knees so I am familiar with the problems they cause.
