I recommend that you check the License (myfloridalicense.com) and require the Electrical Contractor to attain county or city permit (don't try to save the permit fee). I'm a Certified General Contractor and Licensed Home Inspector, and I can tell you that I have seen some very poor and unsafe work done by un-licensed electricians, or people who are licensed out of state. The money spent on a good electrical contractor, and permit, is money well spent. Also, the receipt goes a long way with your insurance company.
