Mark Colbridge at Mossman medical. I 100% recommend him as i too have a autistic son and he is fantastic with my son, very patient with my son and listens to our concerns. My so won't see any other doc. We have temp moved back to Melbourne now but will be moving back end of this year.

Thank you everyone for your great advice. I may have to try New Horizons as Mountain View are only open from 9 to 11 for emergencies today. As I consider anything wrong with my kids an emergency but if they aren't taking any new patients it rules them out anyway. Thx again everyone

We've been so frustrated ever since Dr John left our surgery with the same issues of not being able to get in. We can honestly highly recommend the walk in clinic in Smithfield-- next to the old Mitre 10. You can book online for a set time or walk in. You can request a specific doctor, but to be honest, everyone we've seen has been diligent, thorough and exemplary. Yes, its a drive, but when you can't get in up here its a definite alternative. I changed from mountain view to new horizons a few years ago. Dr alex was great but due to a lack of drs it was hard to get in same day. Dr Louise bleier is amazing and so great with kids. The whole team there are superb. X

I have to say, Dr Liz at New Horizons is an exceptional Dr and I am saying this as as an aging grandfather, who enjoyed first class medical support for 25 years in Adelaide. But when I made my sea change, four years ago, if someone had told me that I would have better medical support here in Port Douglas, than I did I did in Adelaide, then I would have thought that they were crazy. But in truth they would have been right,. Let me call a spade a spade. If any of my 6 grandchildren had any sort of serious medical condition, I would at my expense, fly them here so their parents could have the best second opinion possible, in my humble opinion. And that would be Dr Liz's opinion of their situation.

Just a brief follow on. So many people in this straw poll are saying such good things about New Horizons. If you were to go there, you would really understand why!

Mossman Medical Center are really good and will squeeze kids in when they are sick. My son was sick Monday and I didn't have an appointment but they still saw him. It was Dr Wilson and she is fantastic with kids and myself. I highly recommend her

Dr Archer is the only BB clinic in town. Port village and New Horizons only if you have a concession card. BUPA is private health for hospital/specialists not general practice.
