Hi Christina Taverna it's Julia from Dr. Bowers office. If you had called us for a referral Dr. Chris is the number I would have given you. His office is in the buildings next to ours. Melissa brought her kids there and she was happy. Good Luck!!

Yes I just I went to him on Friday and the kids loved him. I went because I saw the ad and wanted something closer to home. Dr. Chris Iannou was was great and very friendly I recommended him.
Carrie P. replied:
Christina Taverna, lol! I was just going to recommend dr. Campisi. Probably 10 years ago, we were recommended to him by my dds, dr. Berkmire. My son ( 4 at the time) had broken, and knocked out his two front teeth while trying to jump a hole on his bike(crazy kid!). I took him to his dds, dr. Gold, after calling them and asking what i should do. They had him waiting, unable to close his mouth for the pulp oozing out of the tooth and the crumbled bits of tooth, for over an hour. I kept asking the (nasty) receptionists, 'do the dentists know we are here?" They began to get rude. Finally, the straw that broke the camel's back was when we hit an hour and a half. I called dr. Berkmire. He examined my son, called his 'friend', dr. Campisi, who had closed for the day. Campisi and his wife, Karen, stayed in his office while we drove over there, and took the most gentle care of my son,I still have goosebumps when I think of it. They were closed, and stayed there to care for a kid who wasn't even their patient. I have been a patient ever since. They are THE BEST.
Melissa G. replied:
You could also go to the Stony Brook Dental School - they're GREAT there!
Jackie E. replied:
Christina Taverna it is a true pediatric dentist. It's decorated and the kids pick a few prizes from a treasure chest at the end. The dental assistants were also great.

Summer L. replied:
My son goes to Stony Brook Dental School's special needs department. He needed a filling, and two pediatric dental offices said he would need sedation (not covered by insurance and it was about $1,500). SB Dental was able to do it without sedation. My son dislikes the dentist, but they are really good with him there. Very patient, and very kind to him.
Tammy P. replied:
Dr. Scott Goldstein right off of 83. Zack loves him and he's pediatric
Jeffrey M. replied:
Glen Korsen of Kid Smile in Smithtown. Doesn't even drill. Uses painless laser. My kids love him and I would see him if he saw adults!!!

Sedation is the only way unfortunately. My son is terrified of the dentist and we had to go that route. We used Dr. Bob at Suffolk Pediatric Dentistry in PJS. They give the kids a drowsy inducing drink and then they do their work. Parents though were not allowed in the room.
