Let the guy know if the hard drive is making the wrong noises don't plug it in or try anything to fix it. It will make it worse, just go straight to Kroll OnTrack http://www.ontrackdatarecovery.com.au. If it's a hardware issue... If the hard drive is only a little stuffed like, accidentally formatted or a bit corrupt, I can recover in most cases.
