Any recommendations for dentists? We do not have dental insurance but would like cleanings done. Do the health clinics accept people without insurance and allow paying...
Mark N. replied:
I schedule my second cleaning with Dr. Goldberg.

I have a great recommendation for a very very inexpensive dentist in the German colony / wadi nisnas area. It's a family run practice and does most everything himself with the help of his assistant. Excellent English and really caring and accessible. His prices are 1/3 anyone else in the city. I can almost guarantee you... Dr. Khoury 04-852-3697
Dr. Dan Gordon,He is my dentist and he is the best,Very professional. He removed my fear from dentist, and he speaks english very good. If you've problems also outside the working hours he is always available on his mobile.
Benjamin G. replied:
We go to see Dr. Debbie Doron in the Horev Area. She is from Canada and speak perfect English
Sol K. replied:
We go to Dr. Goldberg also in Horev area 048341853. He is from the States so his English is better than a Canadian's
Anna G. replied:
Dr. Permut in Hantke 5, next to Horev center. Tell him I say hi
Alison H. replied:
@Mark of course I have! I wouldn't recommend something I can't stand behind I went to him for a few things and have been sooooo happy with his work and practice. Now I have Maccabi Sheli, the supplementary medical insurance, so the MaccabiDent clinic is cheaper for me (though their service and work procedures are really frustrating!!), otherwise I'd still be going to him. Many of these Anglo dentists people recommend are much more expensive, because they can be. Dr. Khoury is just as talented, but because his clinic is where it is, he's able to charge less.
Mark N. replied:
I am just a regular American at the Technion so I am not on any Israeli national plans. I will have too look into Khoury, DDS. I have not seen too many people in Haifa with bad teeth so that is encouraging.

I used to go to Community Dental. They are a Community Clinic that actually gives price breaks to low income folks. I was on their scholarship program at different points and after I got my life sorted out I kept going their at full price (which was actually still pretty cheap) because I wanted to support their mission. Got a decent amount of work done their and am still happy with it. Just a suggestion.

I've been going to Dr. Alan Rich on Pleasant Ave. since I moved here, and I think he's great.
Mike M. replied:
I am the fourth to suggest Pam Anzelc. She is kind, competent, and here's one i like: she'll tell you what you need to do for good dental hygiene, but she doesn't blame or shame.
Patrick Q. replied:
Falmouth Dental Arts - Glenn Knock is the dentist. Not super cheap, but super high quality, and if you go there and mention that I referred you, you'll get $50 off your visit, and I'll get $50 off my next visit.
Mary B. replied:
Pam Anzelc on Auburn Street...great person and super dentist with reasonable rates.
Branden P. replied:
I don't know about the service they provide, but Portland Community Dental on Brighton Ave. does sliding scale.
Can anyone recommend a great dentist that pulls teeth with sedation? Need one ASAP when I get back.
Jennifer B. replied:
Dr. Collette in Portland. Grady just had his 4 impacted wisdom teeth out and bone work. He was phenomenal.! I would highly recommend him. The staff was incredible also!
Jennifer B. replied:
I had a horrible experience at Aspen Dental! Would not recommend them for sedation/tooth removal look them up on BBB or the Physicians Board. Many of them have been reported. Yes Dr. Collett does all types of dental work.
