El Antojo 2505 E 4 th Plain. Best Mexican food in town says I. Juliano’s Pizza on Mill Plain is pretty damn good. Pizzeria pizza. Not cheap. One slice and you’re full. Two slices and you need a forklift to move you to the sofa. Very heavy on the toppings. My kinda pie.

There’s this little Mexican market in the corner of the plaza that houses Joann and Sportsman warehouse, my fiancé and I checked it out not too long ago and we were floored. Best quesadilla and tacos ever! I can’t remember the full name but it’s a market that has an actual shop and a restaurant you can sit down or take out from. Edit: the name is Taquiera Market :)

Muchas Gracias is the default favorite around here if you like bland food with absolutely no flavor.

There is a taco cart on mill plain in the shell parking lot across from bens bottle shop that is really good and cheap. Little conejo is good. For enchiladas havvnt found a place I love yet.

La Morelia on fourth plain

I’m bummed that no one has mentioned Bortolami’s Pizza or Blind Onion Pizza. I like Bortolami’s for their sauce and Blind Onion for their crust. I don’t feel qualified to suggest on Mexican food because I just love any and all of it, but would particularly recommend El Mitote, Antojo’s, Little Conejo, and Los Alambres!

Nonavo pizza and la sorrentina make great pizza. Little Conejo and tacos Guadalajara by Grover's are my go to tacos, I haven't found any decent sit down full meal spots for Mexican yet, sadly.

No one has mentioned Super Taco yet? Hand down best Mexican food in town.

Honestly Muchas gracias is better than any sit down Mexican restaurant you can find in town. Anytime I go anywhere else I’m disappointed that I didn’t just get Muchas and go home.

Little Conejo is trendy and good, but a bit pricey. Jorge's Tequila Factory is a standard decent quality Mexican restaurant.

For Pizza I really like the all meat pizza at Railside brewing in Hazel Dell. I also like the all meat pizza at Twilight off of 192 nd. Other than that if I want a really good NY pizza, off to Portland I go, but this sub is about Vancouver.

My favorite pizza place will be re-opening soon. Pizzeria La Sorrentina was a lil food card that pumped out the best neopolitan style pizzas, and they did so well they're opening up what might be Vancouver's most legit Italian restaurant. Outside of them? Pizza out here is largely too expensive for what it is. It's a far cry from ye olde cheap and delicious New York style that I loved. That's what I loved about Pizzeria, the pizza was cheaper than most, and better than most, and sized about just right. Hopefully that all remains true when they re-open. Until then... you might as well try what they've got locally. I've gotten some decent pizza from Rally Pizza on Mill Plain, but it's a tad expensive.

Don Taco

Jorges is ok. Casa Colima is better, near the intersection of 162 and 4 th plain. Both do mostly traditional American Mexican food but the food at casa Colima is more flavorful, the service is better, and they bring both beans and salsa to the table with the chips. One thing to remember, Mexican food here is going to be different than in the southern border states. Mexican immigrants here often come from different parts of Mexico and are serving a different clientele. Now if you’re willing to drive for something fantastic, head up to Centralia. The carnitas at la Tarasca is probably among the best things you’ll ever eat if you enjoy Mexican food.

Taqueria Mexican Market on forth plain and the 500 has the best tacos in the entire region....havent found a place that tops them. They make their salsa fresh/homemade, so it tastes amazingly fresh and each day has a different kick to it...just depends on who's making it that day. I believe they are closed on sundays and I think they don't stay open as late as the market, so go for lunch or early dinner. :-) Warning: its authentic so the salsa can get very very spicy. Even the mild has a kick to it. Only go if you like authentic

For cheap, Super Taco is super solid. I actually also liked El Riconsito on Hwy 99. For fast casual, highly suggest Little Conejo. Def pricier, but they are boooomb. Go for the lunch time tortas. For pizza, check out Rally Pizza!

Like everyone said Super Taco. El Tapatio in Hazel Dell is a really good sit down that wont break the bank.

If you aren't disinclined to drive to Portland, in SE there is the [Portland Mercado](https://www.portlandmercado.org), 7238 SE Foster Rd, Portland, OR 97206. They have a series of carts with food from various regions of Mexico, Central and South America, in addition to a marketplace. Some really excellent food from those carts.

La Costa right by the Vancouver Mall is very good sit down. Their Carne Asada is legit, and the soups are great. Never had bad food there.

Nuestra Mesa in Camas is by far the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. So freakin’ yummy.

I love Javier's on 4 th plain. I go there every two weeks for my carne asade fries.

The sad thing is. We're NOT that far from California. Down there I could name 10 amazing Mexican restaurants each one better than the next. Up here the struggle is real.

I still prefer going to Escape from New York in Portland and it's splinter store, Straight from New York. Apparently they were co-owners who couldn't agree or something and split into rival shops. lol.

NYC Pizzeria is pretty damn good. Privately owned and the owner is always there making your slices.

Su Casa Marquez is probably my favorite for sit down style Mexican. It's a tiny hole in the wall place but really dang good. Unfortunately they don't have beer, which is a major downer for me.

Muchas is great. Grew up in San Diego. Its close. The guy that opened it used to work at Albertos. There is a place across from Hazel Dell lanes. El Tapatia or something.

Tacos Locos in Salmon Creek! Tucked onto the side of a shell station. There's one table outside. Super good tacos! Carnitas, al pastor, carne asada are all amazing!

SoCal transplant here and huge Mexican food fan. Sadly, not much to offer. Tequila Factory (or sometimes called Margarita Factory) might be your best bet. It's decent with some full flavored sauces. The Chilie Colorado enchiladas are very good, No one has a good deep fried crunchy taco anywhere in town. I'm over "street tacos". Who Song & Larry's is part of a chain that originates from SoCal so they are also decent but nothing really shouts GREAT MEXICAN FOOD in the PNW. It's the ONLY thing I really miss from California.

Provecho is garbage unless you have a very high tolerance for awful service. El Antejo is good serviceable quick Mexican, like muchas but clean. Pizza is a whole different discussion. What kind of pizza is important, cost is not a reasonable factor because it’s all nosebleed expensive.

It’s worth a trip across the border to go get Por Que No, my favorite tacos in the area.

I've always preferred Javier's Tacos on 4 th Plain to Muchas for quick Mexican, and I've always gone to either Who Songs or Catedral Tapatia on Mill Plain and 164 th for sit down As for pizza, have you tried NYC Pizzeria?

Lindo Mexico on Mill Plain about 123 rd is pretty good, kinda variable. The Cathedral Tapatia is also pretty good. I'm still mourning Sabor Mexico. That's gonna be hard to replace.

I am a big provecho fan. I have heard terrible things about service and honestly went a couple times to see if it was true. I just ended up having an enjoyable delicious meal.

If you want a really good Cheesesteak: Grant's off Sandy Blvd. (Across the river) is fucking fantastic (don't put in the fridge for later though lol they soak it in something delicious so it gets soggy if put in the fridge...lol I learned the hard way); Philly Bilmo's is ok if you dont wanna go far. I wish they didn't shut down Shut Up & Eat, that was the best place! Really great burgers: K&M burgers in Camas; Annie's Burger's on Stark St (across the river), for a mainstream place Killer Burger is good of course. Little Big Burger in Portland deserves a mention! Yum! Their truffle fries are so good. Teriyaki: Soy Grill in East Vancouver has the best spicy chicken ever! That spicy creamy sauce is to die for...yum. I pay for extra on the side to pour on my rice it's so good. Ichi Teriyaki and Youskyme are equally yum. Mediterranean: Anoush Deli and Jerusalem Cafe (although I havent been to Jerusalem Cafe in a couple years. Some people say it has gone downhill.) Hawaiian: Hula Boy Charbroil in Vancouver and Mahi Taco in Portland ... best ever. More taco places: across the river... Antojitos Mexicanos and Las Palmas. Theres a Las Palmas in Vancouver here which is decent (not as awesome as the mexican market I recommended in the other response, but still very yummy...) not sure if those two places are the same owner. If so, the one across the river is slightly better lol. Tea: Boba Tree, super delicious milk tea! Donuts: Have you tried Voodoo Doughnuts yet!? I'm sure I'm missing more but yeah those are some good places. Edit: Jersey Mike's subs! Yum! Lol

Don Juan's on St. John's is great for less typical Mexican food, like lamb barbacoa and goat soup. For pizza, I like Rally the best, near David Douglas Park. Nonavo is nice is you get about half as much sauce as they want to give you. Otherwise the pizzas are super soggy.

Taqueria el Ronconsito on Hwy 99. Slow as molasses in January as my ma would say. But tasty.

I'm gonna be the one guy who says I actually think we have a plethora of amazing Mexican food options. Maybe I'm sheltered or something, but I'm pretty enthusiastic about Woody's, the taco truck across the street from it, El Antojo, Muchas, Don Taco, Little Conejo, Lindo Mexico. Fourth Plain has a bunch of great mexican joints. As for pizza, I like Blind Onion the best. Arguments could be made for Julianos and Twilight Pizzeria too. Hope you find something you like.

Two words: King Burrito Yes, it’s in Portland. Yes it’s worth the bridge traffic. It’s not pretty, but it is the most amazing hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant you’ll find.

There’s a small lunch counter and maybe 3 or 4 booths. They are a small, family run bakery (lots of fat, colorful cookies and pastries) but we love them for their wonderful Mexican plates for cheap. Probably the best I’ve had in years. Love the salsa bar, look for it when you’re there. Tortillas are made in house! Highly recommend it.

A couple favorites: La Raza Taqueria is a truck that's on Fourth Plain, I think outside Vick's market on the south side of the road. Watch for signs saying "Hoy rica barbacoa". They have great tacos. Dulce Tentacion Taqueria is an operation of Dulce Tentacion Panaderia & Pastaleria. They serve tacos, burritos, quesadillas, sopas, etc outside under a canopy on the evening. They're not open all day. Their handmade tortillas are fantastic. Pizza: we're particularly fond of Vancouver Pizza Co on Main Street, NYC Pizzeria on Chkalov, and Rally. If you like things that are a little different, try NYC's Punjabi Special.

I'm sad only one other person has even briefly mentioned Woodys Tacos. Their fire roasted salsa has me hooked, sometimes I'll go in just to buy a pint of salsa (they'll let you, just ask for the catering size it's like 5 bucks and I use it at home almost daily). I like their crunchy chicken tacos with fire roasted salsa and sour cream. If you go down to Portland Nuestra Cocina is also good but significantly more pricey and you'll probably end up in a line waiting to get in. Awesome food tho but definitely a special occasion dine for us. I'm not a huge pizza fan but our house favorites are Mod, Rockys Pizza out in Battleground, and Little Italys in downtown vancouver.

When you find it, let me know. Been here since last July from San Diego, and haven't found anything that compares. Muchas gracias has amazing carne asada fries though, and you can ask them for their habanero hot sauce instead of the reg ones.

Super Taco Express on the East side of HWY 99 just South of 99 th St.

The Lucky Lab pub in Multnomah Village (SW PDX) has an upstairs event hall. I threw a birthday party there once. You pay per person for pizza and salad - I think it’s avout $10 a person. You have to pay for your own beer/wine, but it’s a pretty good option if you want it pretty casual. They have their own bar upstairs so people don’t have to wait for the main hall.
