Hate to go back to my health issues, but I really need to hear about specific experiences , recommendations, etc. regarding chiropractic , acupuncture, etc. If you do...

...yes pain management is my specialty - Wayne call me 757-502-9121 - We have several solutions that may fit
Marlaena H. replied:
Wayne I have had wonderful experience with Chiropractors. I would never recommend modern medicine. Tina Degeorgio in VB is great. 498-3044
Nancy M. replied:
Wayne, I was told by Dr. Holmes, he does the 'hypnosis' that the VA in Richmond has procedures not available here, and, also that private doctors are doing a Bryan's procedure, that could be paid for if surgery is an option. There is nothing worse than nerve pain.

I had bad pain in my chest a few months after I had broken and dislocated 2 ribs, and then healed improperly. The chiropractor was able to put them back in place and treat my pain without drugs. They used cold laser therapy to help with pain and inflammation. I still go every one in a while to help with lower back pain. The one I go to is called Ocean Lightforce Chiropractic. They have an amethyst healing mat with far infrared and negative ions that helps relive tension and remove toxins. I would highly recommend their services to anyone dealing with chronic pain. Good luck and I hope you can feel well again soon.
Mike B. replied:
Wayne, I once worked as a psychological assistant in a multi-disciplinary chronic pain management program at Akron General Hospital here in Ohio. Chronic pain is the pits and I believe a multi-disciplinary approach is the best way to proceed based upon that experience. I suggest you ask your doctor about such programs in Hampton Roads. They're bound to exist.
Kerry H. replied:
I do chiropractic every time I can squeeze it in. I should go 2 x a week with my current spine/hip problems, but that's neither budget nor schedule friendly. I do highly recommend Dr. Ellen on Colley ave. I did get accupuncture several years ago and I noticed a better 'flow' of energy in my body but no real 'pain relief' so to speak. I would encourage you to look into: http://foxhallwellness.com/index.php/home/8-foxhall-wellness-center My friends Ben and Angela run it and are amazing folks. Angela practices a form of energy work called Body Talk which I certainly couldn't explain well. HOWEVER I have been seeing her somewhat regularly for at least 5 years now and I've always noticed an improvement in my overall health (Mental and physical and emotional) as well as my weight control and my body health (hip/joint pain) I know those probably get added to your list of "things to review/discuss" but please be sure to add them. Angela's "magic" certainly has helped me be more-well over the course of the last few years which have been very hard on me. I recommend her highly. I can list my ailments here if you're interested. But the short version is: Years of being a tom boy screwed up my back. Getting dumped off horses screwed up my hips/pelvis/shoulders. Asthma makes excersize hard. So my body is not happy. Chiropractic helps. Regular massage therapy HELPS (and hurts. lol). Finding something physical to do that you enjoy (For me, riding horses) HELPS but is hard to get into the groove when pain lurks. But it HELPS both body and soul. I would go to Dr. Ellen for chiropractic. At least for a consult. Also look into energy-based wellness such as Body Talk (or others) which treat things that pills cannot. If you need more info, lemme know

Medical doctors are taught to treat symptoms. Chiropractors are trained to treat patients. See Doc Egan on Big Bethel Rd in Hampton.

Sheila M. replied:
Dr Ian Bier, ND. Human Nature Natural Health, if you're open to holistic health care. Some insurances cover because he's a PH.D. too.
Melissa C. replied:
Martins Point.
Susan M. replied:
Martin's Point on Pease has been great for me. Once I called them from work, got same day appointment on my lunch hour and was able to get antibiotic at on location pharmacy immediately following the appointment. All on my lunch hour. Didn't miss any work. Dr. Stark is great there.
Ann C. replied:
I go to Jolene Schuman at Martins Point, my husband's primary care doctor is also at Martin's Point.
Susan G. replied:
Adam Kurish is the best doctor I have ever had.
Samuel C. replied:
Adam Kurish is not my PCP, but is a friend of mine and is a really great guy, so I am not surprised by the above posts. He is also pretty new to the area and fairly young, so I think it is likely pretty easy to get in and see him. My PCP is Susan Krolewski. She is my favorite PCP I have ever had. It is really easy to get in to see her too. She is a very smart person above that of your typical MD (She has a Engineering Ph.D. on top of her MD). She is generally very thoughtful in what she says. If you are looking to be a new patient I think either of those would be good choices. Also, I know for sure that Dr. Krolewski took the original BCBS Obamacare insurance.
Amy M. replied:
Dr El Bizeri at portsmouth internal medicine!
Steph B. replied:
Dr Lilly at Woodbury Family Practice!
Isaac B. replied:
I see dr Thayer Kittery family practice, maybe a good start is there
Gary E. replied:
Make sure you understand "access" in your evaluation. Since Obamacare, it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to get in to see my primary care doctor that I've had for 20 years. I would certainly stay away from Portsmouth Family Practice and to the degree possible, anyone associated withe Appledore Medical Group. Good luck.
Karen K. replied:
I have been very happy with Portsmouth Family Practice and Dr. Buono.
Emy A. replied:
http://www.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-jennifer-carter-xbxc9, she is relatively new there. I've seen her a handful of times and she has been great.

North Carolina Friends. It is time for me to find a doctor in the Washington NC area for my over all health and my type II diabetes. Any recommendations????????
Melissa B. replied:
Dr Lewis or anyone@Vidant Family Medicine.
Kari H. replied:
Dr. Kerry Partis in Plymouth has worked wonders with Brian and his Diabetes. We love her.
Kari H. replied:
Yes, she's in the same office as Dr. Jeon. They've opened up the other side for her to see patients. She's done more for Brian in a few months than Physicians East in Greenville did in the 8 years he went there.
Eddie E. replied:
Sounds like Dr. Kerry Partis might be the one or Dr. Lewis. Thank you for the advice.
Melissa B. replied:
Dr. Lewis in washington is my dad's Dr for all including diabetes. I also worked in that office for 10 years. All drs there are good and my entire family goes there. Either way with him or Dr. Partis.....sounds like you'd be in good hands. Good luck!
I need a new PCP (primary care physician) more of a holistic med lover but need someone on the Seacoast...I am in willing to travel for the right one....
Laura B. replied:
If your insurance covers Maine physicians, I would highly recommend Dr. Trevor Braden at York Family Health (right over the bridge in Kittery). He has a background in alternative/complimentary medicine.

I have had a bladder infection since Sunday....still no help from my urologist. Anyone know a doctor that cares about my suffering? If so, please inbox me. Thanks!
Wendy C. replied:
Patient first has not been fast lately--there are so many flu, strep, and stomach bug issues, that they have had waits of 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Took Steph to Sentara ER on 17 and we were seen within 10 min of walking in the door. We've also always had good success with Bon Secours ER in Harborview.--Catch is that the ER's cost more than Patient First
