I would appreciate any feedback about Victoria BC. Hotel recommendations for 2 adults and 2 kids that is short distance close to must see spots? Is 1 or 2 nights...

I would plan to stay two nights. I'm assuming you'll leave your car on this side, and take the Coho from Port Angeles? There are a few fairly inexpensive hotels just to the right of where the ferry lands in the harbor. There is a Days Inn, and a Best Western just across the street from the terminal. You can walk everywhere! The Royal BC Museum is super - lots of exhibits and a recreated old town. China Town is also fun to wander around. There are harbor boat rides on cute little yellow taxi boats that are informative and cruise all around the harbor. There is also the Victoria Bug Zoo and Fisherman's Wharf. If you feel like taking a tour, you can get a very nice bus transport to Butchart Gardens, as well as the Victoria Butterfly Gardens.

When you arrive go to the nearest Canadian bank and exchange your American $$ for Canadian $$. Using Canadian $'s will get you the best exchange rate...your US credit cards will charge you a big fee that shows up on your next credit card bill. Save the US credit card use for big things like ferry and hotel costs.

Red Fish Blue Fish has fish tacos and inexpensive food on the waterfront within walking distance of downtown. Keep in mind those prices are Canadian dollars. http://www.redfish-bluefish.com

Good Thai food at The Noodle Box, and we've had fun with the walking ghost tour.

We go up every year & what Jana Miller Pernsteiner said above is right on! Generally speaking, motels near the water do cost more, but the convenience/view are worth it to us. MUCH cheaper to walk on the ferry, but for the future cost is around $185 for round-trip (for 2 people) with car & ferry reservation for the car, which I definitely suggest! Check on-line carefully, as accomodations are less expensive off-season. https://www.cohoferry.com/

I highly recommend the Radisson park n fly option. Literally across the street from the airport and you can walk. They do have a shuttle option alos. And the best part is that they are right next door to the 13 Coins restaurant one of my favorite places. https://www.radisson.com/offers/2471465

We stayed out the most amazing hotel last May before flying out. It is called the Cedarbrook Lodge, super close to the airport. They have a community living room in each wing with free snacks, including Haagen Dazs! And free breakfast! I had heard great things about it, and it still completely blew us away! http://www.cedarbrooklodge.com/specials/park-and-fly

Sharyl R. replied:
We love Legoland! Haven't been there for several years. There are a couple of hotels right next to the park, including a Legoland hotel that was going up the last time we were there and looked incredible. The last time we went, we stayed at the West Inn and Suites, which we loved. It was 5-10 minutes from the park, but we still had to drive. We have always rented a car at the San Diego airport. Here is a link to the hotel we stayed at: http://www.westinnandsuites.com/
