Sharyl R. replied:
My favorite office is Poulsbo Eye Care., Dr Hedahl and Dr. Tonder. Love them. Unfortunately they don't take our insurance, so we've started going to Lens Crafters at the Kitsap Mall and have been happy with them. Also have had good experiences at Costco when our grown son wasn't on our vision insurance.
Hannah G. replied:
Please do not go to Costco for a pediatric eye exam. There have to be optometrists in Kitsap that work well with kids, but if you struggle to find one then I highly recommend Dr. Stoebner in Edmonds (Edmonds Eyecare Assoc). If you need a specialist or suspect something more serious like strabismus or amblyopia, then Dr. Epley in Seattle is great. Costco exams are fine for teens and adults who have no history of ocular problems.
Sarah S. replied:
I highly recommend Dr. Jason Cheung. He is a Pediatric Ophthalmologist. My son started seeing him as a preschooler. Edited to add--he is not on our vision insurance, but his office is great at separating out the bill so that they can bill our health insurance for part of the bill (parts of the exam qualify for health insurance) and then we pay the rest out of pocket--it ends up being quite reasonable and for me it is VERY important to have my child seen by someone who specializes in children.
Brenda B. replied:
I second Dr. Cheung. My daughter started with him at age 2 now 13. Very thorough.
Stephanie F. replied:
Dr. Cheung is wonderful! My daughter started seeing him when she was 2, and she turned 15:-)
Sarah R. replied:
I just took my son to Dr. Yang at the doctor's clinic she was good. Mostly the assistant did everything but she also gave us a RX for eye allergies that no other doctor has given my son!
Gail W. replied:
Go see Dr. Steele with Bainbridge Vision. They see children of all ages.
Could anyone recommend an optometrist who is great with littles? My 5 yr old daughter needs an exam.
Julie R. replied:
Pacific eye care poulsbo, Dr Omorcheo is great with little ones, he started seeing our daughter when she was 2.
Sarah S. replied:
Dr. Jason Cheung in Silverdale. He is a pediatric opthalmologist (board certified) and is wonderful with children. He has all the specialized equipment for children. His office is very close to Costco.
Danielle C. replied:
Dr Cheung for sure!!
Shannon T. replied:
Dr. Cheung is excellent, but he doesn't take certain insurances. My kids could only go to him for medical eye issues. Poulsbo eye care was wonderful with my 4 year old son's exam.
