Does anyone have a recommendation for a firewood supplier? I live in West Prague. I need dry wood that can be used this Winter. Thank you.
Gary C. replied:
Julie Giesens, they should come in sealed plastic bags. 1 tonne apparently equals the heat output of 5 cubic metres of dry hardwood. It costs me half the price to burn brickettes over wood, though i do get them cheaper than most people. I could use a couple of tonnes over a cold winter, though my house is big.

Here's one place I found that specifically states they have dry wood and they're in Prague West http://www.dokamen.cz/index.htm

I went with these guys and they charged 250 kc for the transport. I'm living in Central Bohemia though. Mail in English, they answered in Czech, delivery the same day. LE: not the driest (definitely not kept for an year) but doable http://www.biosdobris.cz/akce.php?sort=19

I can give you a couple of links where we get ours. They deliver by the truckload, dont know how that works in Prague unless you just mean those sacks for one day you get from Bauhaus or a petrol station? http://www.drevopark.cz/cenikhttp://www.kvalitnipalivovedrevo.cz/
Anyone know a good place to call to get a truckload of firewood delivered, and hopefully, expertly stacked against my house?

Christi Brooks - we had wood outside that was never fully dry (we had a (huge surplus) - we found this to work - have two baskets - one just inside and then one next to your fire - we found just 1 week of having it - pre burn basket) and it was no problem to get it going
Happy Friday, Saucers. Does anyone know where to buy firewood in bulk? Better, how to have it delivered? Southeast suburbs of Prague.
Tony H. replied:
www.europalivo.cz - you can order online or call them. If you don't know how much you need, and if you just have a wood-burning stove or small fireplace for decoration or "topping-up' your heating tell them to deliver as much as they deliver to me in Ricany...should be good for the winter.
Anybody know of a good place to get firewood for a good price? thanks!
Annika C. replied:
Type in "palivove drevo" and the place you live in google - there'll be lots of offers. Obi and Baumax are extremly expensive if you are looking for big amounts. And than price depends on the kind of wood you want, soft wood, hard wood... https://www.google.cz/#q=palivove+drevo+praha
