The chains do not keep X number of rooms for walk-ins. They may have a limited number for things like Hotels.com but that's it.

Try the town of Hixon it's like Hermitage is to Nashville. We recently went there for a meeting and stayed in a Holiday Inn Express in Hixon. The drive in was minimal.

Chattanooga Choo Choo is very clean and not horribly priced either.
Lori N. replied:
I disagree on the choo choo, it would be my last choice. We've stayed downtown and out toward ruby falls and near Hamilton mall. All were acceptable, we try to stick in the 2.5 stars and above range. Try going straight to Choicehotels.com or Marriott.com to see what's actually available from their brands.
Are there any fun interactive shops here in Prescott or Prescott Valley? I see there is a pottery shop in downtown Prescott. Is that about it? TIA

St Michael's sometimes has some amazing deals. We've had people use Hampton Inn in PV and Prescott-both great and consistent. Also Comfort Inn and Suites up on the hill in PV was nice when we had guests stay there. I've stayed at the resort before we moved here and it was great as well. Consider Hotels.com. On Fridays they run deals up to 50% off. We use them all the time and earn free nights too

We just stayed a couple nights at Kohls Ranch Lodge. Reasonable prices and Beautiful property. Pool, ping ping, basketball/tennis courts, lawn checkers and a nice pool & jacuzzi. They have a lodge with rooms or individual cabins. All on a nice creek to. In Payson, so not too far. Rooms had a kitchen and nice patio/decks with BBQ's too. Food in the restaurant was good.
