Old BT50 is based on the old Ford Ranger, they are indeed a workhorse but are not perticuarly refind or comfortable. I test drove pretty much every truck.on the UK market, the Navara, new Ford Ranger and Amarok are all very comfortable and well refind. The HiLux is underpowered even in 3 litre form it produces less power and torque than the 2.5 Navara and the L200 was an awful thing to drive IMO.

Nissan Qashqai is perfect for your needs. I had a plus 2 and combined family and gigging a treat with this vehicle. Ran a dream, no problems whatsoever and would definitely recommend as fit for your purpose
