You can also book a safari if you want to visit the Kruger !! For a first time visitor I would recommend that you book at least one safari !! You alos need a multiple re-entry visa if you are returning to Mozambique!! I woul also recommend that you book a rental car in South Africa and not Mozambique!! What time are you arriving in Nampula he, he... is it with LAM? Where are you staying at Ilha? Nampula – Ilha do Mozambique or Nacala - 2.5 hours One can take a taxi or go to the Station and get a mini bus from Nampula to Ilha do Mozambique next to the Station, ask for Tanzanianos chapa departing 10h00, get there 09h00 to secure a seat, though if lucky right up to 13h00. Or catch a train Nampula to Nacala, don't have times. Grupo Mecula from the Grupo Mecula garage (in the area known as ‘Raman’ on Rua da Moma) behind the Catholic University, just off Av 25 Septembro daily buses to Nacala depart daily 13h00 Padaria Nampula Transport in Av do Trabalho, east of the train station. Careful some say they’re going to Ilha but only go just before to Monapo. The bridge at Ilha is closed from 21h at night to 5h in the morning.

Please remember to check you papers when they give it to you after you signed the rental contract. You must have a letter from them stating that you are allowed to take the car across the border. You will have to get insurance from them but then you will also have to buy Mozambique 3 rd party insurance either at Hollards, Global, or at the border at any of their offices. This 3 rd party is compulsorily. Cost R220-00 per vehicle
