Next week we are flying in with 3 dogs , Yeah! I need to find a veterinarian to get shots by June for two and by April for one . Any recommendations on a good vet ?

Valeria Suarez is fabulous! Most of us use her! I hope I tagged the right place!
Can anyone provide me with a phone number for Dr. Jorge the veterinarian?
Karen Z. replied:
We are wishing we stayed longer in PoMo. Snow yesterday afternoon and a freak thunderstorm with lightning strikes nearby that shook the house and we thought the windows were going to shatter! Took Puccini the cat to see Dr. Jorge before leaving Mexico for the document you are supposed to have within 5 days of leaving Mexico. No one asked to see it at the Cancun or Toronto airports but they did require a valid rabies certificate with batch number and date at CDN customs which I believe is the same when arriving in the States. Hope Trevor is O.K. Let us know.
Jean L. replied:
I love Dr. Jorge!
Lynnette H. replied:
We needed to get Trevor updated on his shots and get the documentation needed to get him back to the US. We were having trouble contacting Dr. Salvador. Unfortunately he is in the process of moving to Tulum. But he was available yesterday so we got everything taken care of. He recommended two local vets here in Puerto Morelos and Dr. Jorge was one of them.

Dr. Jorge....9982011469. He's here in Puerto Morelos in the Colonia. He gave a Rabies shot & valid paper for my cat last year. Didn't have any problem flying back to Canada with my new MX cat !
Rod R. replied:
Different & separate paperwork for Belize! this must be obtained in Mx first, before going to border. Fine involved if not! Dr. Jorge will help you!

Hi I need to find a low cost vet clinic in Toronto. My niece's cat has a urinary track infection and the vet has already charged 3000 dollars and the cat is still sick.
Hola, Looking for information...... We are planning on bringing our little dog, as carry-on with us on our trips to PoMo from the USA (MN).
Wondering if any one has done...
Karen Z. replied:
Brought our cat back and forth 3 times who passed away at 17 in Canada after our return in April in 2012 and this past winter we were adopted by a Puerto Morelian cat who we brought back to Canada at the end of March 2013. To enter Mexico make sure you have a rabies certificate for your dog that indicates your dog had the shot within a year even though in the States or in Canada they are often valid for up to 3 years. Also make sure the International Health Certificate for your dog has it clearly stated that he or she is free from both internal and external parasites. Saw other pet owners at the Cancun airportbeing delayed and having to pay for a vet to come to the airport if the vaccinations were over one year old for rabies. On our first visit to PoMo with our pet one of the certificates missed the word "endo" in regards to being free of internal parasites and we had to pay for a vet to come to the Cancun airport and he administered an oral solution even though our pet was free of this and just one of the documents missed the word "endo". Just make sure you have all of your documentation and the number of copies required which I think might be 4 of each document. They are very strict. Good luck and it is all worth it!

On the spot Sonvya. I travelled with my dog Jimmy for a few years. Certificate of Health not 3 days before departure. Ask the Vet for United States Interysate and International Certiciate of Health Examination for Small Animals. It has many parts and Cancun loves this document. This is really important. The other thing I got stopped for 2 hours was I did not have a copy of the licence of the Vet and his official photo. Vet's thought I was nuts asking for all of this. By accident I got a 2 year rabies shot for Jimmy and they would not accept this, they like a yearly shot, not to expire during the stay.
