Has anyone ever used Empire Carpets? If so, did they do a good job? We're thinking about getting our downstairs done with hardwood flooring. Thanks!

Agree that solid wood, engineered wood or ceramic tile are your best bets. Engineered wood is better than solid wood for areas with moisture issues (like basements) b/c of how it's constructed. They typically also have a more durable protective top layer. But solid wood is classic & can be refinished. Have also heard mixed things about Empire. I know the people at Carpet Craft in Skippack & they're great!
