I would recommend psychologist first before psychiatrist, to assess if your case requires meds or if you can do without.

btw Ive actually tried both 5 years ago. Ive had around 3 sessions with a Psychologist before, but got frustrated when talks about faith and spirituality went into the therapy. Then after that tried a Psychiatrist for 1 visit, however the Dr didnt really talk much. He just listened then immediately prescribed a medicine. Had an unpleasant experience with the medicine for a week. Plus I didnt really feel the Dr, I just felt like another transaction so I didnt come back. That's why I'm hoping if anyone with a similar condition refer therapist/DRs they've experience with.
