I'm new to the area and I need to find a really good doctor. I have to pick a primary doctor for my Blue Cross. Any suggestions?
Melanie L. replied:
I have made an appintment with Dr Alterman in Rbc. I know they are taking new pts. You need to go by the office near city hall and pick up a packet to schedule a new pt. Appointment. We could never get anyone to answer for Dr. Raines but it was during the holidays so maybe they were not in office when we tried.
Karen T. replied:
I am a Chiropractor and I go to Dr Raines. I do know they had answering machine troubles ( new system). He is very knowledgeable and really genuinely cares for his patients.
Regina B. replied:
Dr. Raines is awesome!

I moved back here about 2 years ago and had issues finding a dr I liked. I had a friend suggest Dr. J. Tummala, she is across from GRMC, Her staff is great and she will actually call me during the day or after hours to talk about test or medication refills. I also like that I don't have to sit in her office all day waiting to be seen.
Linda C. replied:
I would absolutely recommend Dr Dwight Harper! He is my doctor and also my husband's and has been for many years. He may not be seeing new patients but he is listed as Dr Thomas Dwight Harper.
Lana G. replied:
Dr. Rutherford is great!!!
Beverly G. replied:
Dr. Maury Minton is awesome.
Brent R. replied:
Dr. Raines is good
Denise L. replied:
Dr. Harper
Donna T. replied:
Dr. Ayres and Dr. Robinson at Southside Medical Clinic are good.
Pamela J. replied:
I loved Dr. Raine's but due to insurance change we have swopped to Dr. Alterman. Haven't seen him yet so I can't tell you what he's like just yet.
Bentleys doctor will no longer see him bc he is behind on shots .. Who is a good pediatrician that takes medicaid besides dr Hester . Bc that's who he can no longer see...
Chelsea W. replied:
I can't even stand the sight of dr Skelton, he makes my skin crawl. (He's the reason Laken was in children's for 2 weeks) Dr Rutland, yother, hill, or snell are amazing at etowah pediatrics. If he is on Medicaid he will have to go to the Gadsden office...See More
Hannah H. replied:
Go to Dr Skelton
Becca R. replied:
Gadsden Pediatric is wonderful. Especially Dr. Rutland. I saw him my whole life and literally when I can sneak my way into an appt with him I do. the nurses there are wonderful and so are the doctors ESPECIALLY with kids
Kaitlin L. replied:
Dr Skelton is really good
Shyla E. replied:
Dr. Skelton is jaydens Doctor I love them
Courtlun L. replied:
Dr Rainer in centre close to the skating rink is absolutely wonderful! I tried dr skeletons office and honestly I never went back after the first visit.
Haley H. replied:
Skelton at Northeastern Pediatrics.
Valerie C. replied:
Dr Hester is a bitch. He saw Eli and was stupid rude to me. I take my kids only when they are sick to the dr and we see family practitioners. The dr in Rbc takes medicad if U are referred
Jaime P. replied:
How do they expect you to get caught up, if they won't see you. That doesn't make sense. I thought that they couldn't refuse medical treatment to anyone in need. Isn't that part of their oath? What about the children whose parents don't believe in vaccinations? Dr. Skelton has been great with Isaac. Gadsden pediatric has always been good to my girls.
Shawn R. replied:
Health Dept should be able to help.
Dezirae M. replied:
Gadsden Pediatrics! Dr. Lockridge and Dr. McCorkle see mine:) I LOVE THEM. tey are the only ones that are allowed to see them lol
Rosie J. replied:
I'll be the only different one in this comment lol! I take Liam to Etowah Pediatrics! Dr Hester was my dr and he cares so much about his patients! Especially his spoiled little ones like Liam!(:
Sharda' G. replied:
Dr Skelton is my doctor. I've been with them ever since I was a baby.
Tara K. replied:
Dr Skelton is awesome BUT the others he has in with him is a totally different story which is whom you will see a lot ...Mine see Gadsden pediatric and I'm not too happy with them but options are slim in this area...
