Local Friends ~ do you have a pediatrician you love for your teenager? Ours moved and we need to find someone closer.
Dawn J. replied:
Dr Chu at SOCOPA in Lake Forest. It think they have a Ladera office too. Been going to him since we moved here! He is laid back and we love him! 949-770-0513.

Susanna R. replied:
Dr Maureen Downes at Irvine Pediatrics!
Dena E. replied:
Dr. More in RSM. She is a one woman show. In the medical building next to BJs.
Kim R. replied:
Dr Stephen Tang at OC Pediatrics in RSM. I like his approach. He said something to Jr that almost made me cry. He told Jr, "You should go to the people that love you the most with questions you have about your feelings and your changing body. Who are the people that love you the most?" Of course Jr said, "my mom and dad"!
Toni A. replied:
We just changed in December to Dr. Rose Zaragoza-Yson with SOCPA (on Tomas in RSM). She has been great in dealing with Ari's concussion. #858-1100

My kid's doctor is in RSM but I know a great doctor at Ladera if you were interested. they are all very caring and I was able to meet with Dr. (rather than PA) anytime I wanted.

Hi friends! Can anyone recommend their family practitioner doctor and their pediatrician in mission viejo, RSM or Ladera? Also, why do you like them? I have a few names...
Kate G. replied:
Dr. Ball because he listens and understands that the kids are individuals. Dr. Fightlin for adults for the same reasons. Also, both have given excellent referrals to specialists when I needed them. Their groups are South Orange County Pediatric Associates and Oso Family Medical, respectively.
Lisa M. replied:
Dr. Yson at SOCPA in RSM! Love her so sweet and friendly had her since karly was born!
Rebecca M. replied:
My family practitioner/internal doctor isn't very nice but tells me what I need to hear about myself and then follows up with me by making me do check ups. Being overweight has been a struggle and my doctor just tells me like it is and motivates me to change. I name is Dr. Cecelia Tran and she's in the Saddleback medical group in Laguna.
Kirstin D. replied:
Dr. Shannon. I love him for Marleigh. He's very much into organic and doesn't throw prescriptions at us. Gives me a list of things that I can find at Sprouts usually. Smart man, great personality and cares about my child, not making $$ for pharm companies smile emoticon also does his research.
Kirstin D. replied:
For Cambrie we see Dr. Abidi.@mission. She has never questioned a referral that I asked for. I've gotten them over the phone without an office visit. She has also given me notes for school without being seen. I'm not suggesting you don't take your kid s when they need to go or you have a concern. It's just we see so many specialists that it's nice to have a doc that knows I'm taking care of things Cam needs and respects me being a nurse and trusting my judgement. She also has a ton of experience and let's us walk in anytime. I've caught her in the hallway and she has taken the time to talk with me. Tells me when she thinks I need to see the ER or a different doc without having to see her for a visit and my $$ go to waste. Good luck!! As for adults... Dr. Bilan? (Sp) in RSM. Many of us NICU girls have seen her. I think she is the best primary I've met in a very long time. When I've been there she takes care of me as a whole person. Not just what my complaint is. I actually chose the other doc in her office last year and was disappointed. That one was out of town so I saw her and wow what a difference. This year Bilan is not covered on my insurance so I'm going with a doc that was also recommended by some NICU folks. Dr. Conner or Oconnel? Haven't gone in to meet her yet. I don't think she is in the areas you mentioned. Aliso Viejo I believe. Oh and Dr. Shannon has office hours in different places throughout the week. I've seen him in Laguna Hills and AV. We will now be going to the SC office. I've always heard great things about all the docs he works with ... Sea view Pediatrics.
Carly H. replied:
We used to see Dr Ball at SOCPA, and he really is great, but you have to schedule really far in advance to get in with him because he is so popular. Just a heads up. We ended up switching to Roberts because we could get in with her within a reasonabl e time frame. She was very nice and spent time with the boys, but I was really disappointed when she dismissed my concerns about Chase when we suspected Autism, and I just contacted Regional myself, and then spoke directly with a neurologist after that. We moved to Kaiser not long after this, so I never saw her after that.
Giselle G. replied:
I love SOCPA. My kids has been with Dr. Ball for at least 10 years now. Love him and the whole group.
Giselle G. replied:
Dr. Yson, Dr. Mersch, Dr. Lo are some of the Drs we've seen at SOCPA.
Jessica H. replied:
We love Dr Eric Ball at SOCPA- for those reasons. Dr Lo is great too but Ball is our main Dr.
Carrie W. replied:
Dr Cox at coastal kids in Ladera. She is extremely thorough and very open to conservative treatment methods (more natural). Listens to the parents but will also tell them when she disagrees and recommends something else. We LOVE her.
Betsy F. replied:
Dr Shannon at sea view. And dr Foster at saddleback memorial. He went to school with Dr Zeller. He's great!
Rachel B. replied:
Thanks for the pediatric referrals! Yes Betsy i have Dr. Fosters number to look into as well. Keep the family practitioners for adults coming friends!
