Need recommendation for foundation inspection I'm trying to refinance my house. When they did the appraisal, they didn't seem to care for the cracks in my basement walls...

Any reputable contractor will likely give you a free estimate. Then you can go from there if there is work to be done.

Tbh to get the most unbiased assessment, hire a structural engineer that is not affiliated with a foundation company to assess your basement. It won't be free but the reason a foundation company will come into your home to do a free assessment should be obvious. :P

It's been about 7 years, but we had Bob from MoKan Foundation repair (913 208 3898) come out and take a look at our very scary basement. We told him we couldn't afford to address it right now, but wanted an assessment and a plan broken in to stages so we could sleep at night. He was very nice, very calm and even said "your house isn't going to collapse any time soon." About a year later we had a big chunk of the work done (by him) and it was a good experience. There were no surprises and he actually had the crew do more work than we expected (with no extra cost).

Used Glenn Marsee & Sons on 2 houses. They did a great job.

Do not go with a foundation company. They want to sell you a repair. Hire a structural engineer to give you an inspection report. I use https://www.nortonschmidt.com/
