Sarah C. is looking for ideas for activities for her 3 1/2 year old daughter. She will be doing "preschool" at home but would like to get her involved with some classes...

"At home" in this case is unlikely to actually mean "in a house", Eillen. I'm guessing she means "out in the community, but not enrolled in a school". Tons of socialization opportunities outside the walls of a preschool. For all 3 of my kids, we have found a lot around here- park play, Discovery Museum, art class (Kids N Art for us), play group (KidsLIFEnv.org for us), swimming lessons (reno or sparks rec dept).

Kidslifenv.org - support and play dates twice weekly!

Check out MOPS groups (search mops.org for local groups). Also, there are some great art classes for preschoolers coming up from the NV Museum of Art. I list all upcoming family events on our calendar. http://renofamonthego.com/index.php/calendar-2/

I agree with Jessica. My son does Tumblebus Reno through his school and swimming on the weekends through the City of Reno. He has enjoyed both activities and it helps burn the never-ending energy!

Check out Reno Moms Blog's Resources page! There are several groups in town (both faith-based and not) that meet up monthly or so to give kids that social outlet with other homeschool students. This is a great place to start. Good luck! http://nevadahomeschoolnetwork.com/support/washoe/

The Discovery Museum! They have a great program for little guys one morning a week, I think Wednesday! You should look into that! And gymnastic or dance classes are great too! There are mommy and me swim classes, pop warner, etc., lol. Hope that helps!:)
Jamie is in the market for a high quality preschool that is affordable. She is pretty flexible as to the area of town. What do you recommend?
