Ariel Q. replied:
I'll be honest, it depends on who you are as a person. I've seen Dr. Codd at Season's Medical previous to pregnancy and I saw a little of everyone at Madison Women's while pregnant (Dr. Evans delivered my baby and has been taking care of my postpartum care). I did not like Dr. Codd but he's one of the more popular ones at Season's. He just didn't take the time to explain things to me, was very condescending (in my opinion), and completely ignored my husband like he wasn't even there. Some people prefer a quick in and out and would rather not stop and have a chat and that's fine. I prefer to ask lots of questions and tend to be a very assertive patient, so I don't tend to just blindly go with what a doctor says. At Madison Women's Clinic, I love both of the family nurse practitioners. They can't deliver babies, but they took care of a lot of my early pregnancy stuff. They were so sweet and understanding and were really great at connecting with me personally. I prefer female OB/GYNs, though. I feel like they have a little more understanding (and let's be honest their hands are way smaller lol!). Dr. Allred is pretty quiet and listens more than talks. He'll answer questions very directly and is a calming presence to me. Dr. Evans has a quirky sense of humor. In delivery that was kind of annoying, but in office it can be fun if you aren't an anxious type. He's just a more outgoing kind of person. He does answer any questions (he spent 10 minutes on the phone with me the day before I had an appointment because I was feeling a little off about a procedure I needed done) but will also talk your ear off in his short time with you if you let him. LOL He's just really friendly. In a perfect world, I'd say see the family nurse practitioners at Madison Women's for non-pregnancy things, Dr. Evans for in office stuff, and have Dr. Allred deliver babies. But that's my personality. I've heard differently from others.:) P.S the ultrasound tech at Madison Women's is one of my favorite medical professionals I've ever seen, so I'm not sure if that sways you one way or another, but I looked forward to seeing her more than just about anyone else, and not just because we got to see baby! haha!

When I got pregnant we went to RoseMark by recommendations of a few ladies I know. I think they did great. We mostly saw Matt Robison for our appts but Dr Gunderson delivered my baby and he was also awesome and actually made the experience pretty fun and funny ( he has a good sense of humor). We had a lot a great interactions with 3 of the drs there and the staff is awesome as well. But I agree with Meghan Boles Overson it never hurts to go see a few doctors, because everybody has there own opinions. I heard some girls have bad experiences with Dr. Matt, but for us he was great so,definitely be choosy its your body and YOUR BABY. I also have friend who went to Leavitt and really like him as well.

Meghan O. replied:
We came from incredible doctors in Utah and it killed us to leave. Doctor Meredith at Madison women's clinic is who we went to, and he was pretty good... We ended up having to go to specialists in IF for complications so we didn't get much experience with him... If I were you I'd go to a few before you decide... It can be hard but, it's worth it in the end! It's surprising how NOT amazing some of them are, so be careful!! We ended up just going back to Utah to have the baby because we didn't love anyone here, and with the complications it wasn't worth the risk! We went back later to Meredith for another baby and we told him everything about having that second baby and he told us it would have been a for sure C-section if we had done it there... Thankfully we didn't and we had the baby vaginally in Utah! So, long story short, BE CHOOSY and DONT SETTLE!!

I loved Dr. Allred at Madison women's clinic. He was so great. Having a baby here, I didn't want to just feel like another OB patient (I had my first 2 in Seattle and my OBGYN office was only like 40% maternity). But he was great and answered all my questions and I didn't feel like a number to him. It's been2 years since I had my baby and when I see him around town, he remembers me and asks how the baby is.

Dr Watson for me too. It's so nice to have my whole family go to the same doctor and I love how kind he is with me and my girls. He pays such close attention to us and actually listens to my concerns, even if they are kind of ridiculous. He lets me use my essential oils when I want to but let's me know Inge that can happen if the issue isnt resolved quick enough with the oils. He also works with the hospital and so when my husband got admitted to the hospital this last week (by him) he was able to be our Doctor there too and it was so nice to not have to explain everything again to another doctor when we got out.

Honestly it depends on your personality! They are all great doctors, but some peopleI work better with certain personality types. I like madison woman's clinic. Dr. Evans is great, especially if you have complications, he fights for you and makes sure you get the best of the best! (But he does have a goofy sence of humor and you need to take him with a grain of salt.) Dr. Allred is awesome too, he's really good at listening, and won't dismiss any of your concerns or feelings. And he's very professional. Just try someone, I'd you don't like it/them then switch. You have 9 months to find the one that works best with you. ☺
Paula N. replied:

With my first I went to Dr Watson in Rexburg. I loved him and his staff. What I really liked is he did everything he is a family Dr. I didn't have to have a different doctor for my son. I hated moving cuz I had to find a new doctor. Dr Watson still recognizes me and my son when we ran into him at the store when visiting family and asked how we all are doing. If we ever move back I will be going back to him!
Kelsey D. replied:
Dr leavitt and Dr Adams at leavitt women's Healthcare in Idaho Falls. I went to a few obgyn before finding Dr leavitt while pregnant with my first. He stood out from all the other Dr's because he took the time to get to know me and my husband and answer all my questions plus things I didn't know to ask with my first pregnancy. Both Dr leavitt and Dr Adams are both so personable and are invested in each patient. Dr leavitt actually delivered both of my kids and each delivery went perfect.
Samantha V. replied:
Leavitt women's health care in Idaho Falls. Dr Leavitt or Dr Adams are amazing and both alike. I had Dr Leavitt with my first daughter and absolutely loved him. He truly cared and listened to all my concerns and helped me overcome them. He also let my husband deliver my daughter and that's an experience he'll never forget! I'm 24 weeks pregnant with my second baby and seeing Dr. Adams this time. I was having some complications with a subchorionic hematoma the first of my pregnancy and had to be really careful and put on bed rest so I would reduce the risk of miscarrying. Dr Adams really explained everything that was going on and made sure I personally understood everything. I really feel like I'm not just another patient there and they truly care about me and my baby. I will continue to go there with all my babies.

You're going to have to test the waters. It just depends on your personality. I went to Dr. Oldroyd in Idaho Falls, and I thought they didn't follow through very well when I had a miscarriage. Their billing department is also really helpful when it comes to insurance questions. If you have any questions let me know and I can talk to you on Sunday at church smile emoticon

Dr. Huggins was who became my doctor after I was taken to EIRMC from MMH. She was wonderful and I can't say enough about her. I was in the hospital for 3 week and she came in every single day and sat at my bedside and listened to everything we said a nd never rushed us. Between her and Dr. Beauchamp they saved my life and my sons, even though still came early at 30 weeks. By the time I was transferred to EIRMC from MMH at 28 weeks, I had ZERO fluid, a partial placental abruption and a failed BPP on baby. But they worked tirelessly to get us 3 more weeks and made sure we stayed safe.
Kendyl C. replied:
If you are looking for a more natural experience, I would highly recommend Selah Midwifery Clinic in Rigby! They have been so good to us, and explain everything. Each appointment they schedule you to have a full hour, so you are able to visit and get t o know each other. It makes you super comfortable with them, and it is nice to know exactly who will be at the birth. They genuinely care for you, and want to know how you are doing. I have also always felt like I could contact them if anything was worrying me, out of the ordinary, or even if I just have had a question. I cannot say enough good about them!
Gina A. replied:
I went to the midwives (2 midwives) at Seasons. Rachel delivered my baby and she was patient, encouraging, and let me know when problems arose. I also saw Dr Meredith and Dr Codd. All 4 were very thorough and happy to answer any questions and concerns.
Jalene S. replied:
I also agree with Dr. Huggins! She is very knowledgable, super friendly and listens to you at every appointment. It's not hard to see her if you just request to be seen by her at appointments. I saw her my whole pregnancy with my son except a couple times when I needed last minute emergency appointments. She has offices in Rigby and Idaho falls and delivers at EIRMC and MountainView. I loved everyone at EIRMC.
Brittni N. replied:
People have already said it a bunch... but I am just backing them up! Lol! Dr. Codd and Dr. Meredith at Seasons Medical are fantastic!! And their Nurse Practitioners are fabulous as well!
Kylie H. replied:
Go to Dr. Margarette Huggins. She is the best! I went to multiple doctors and they only made things worse she actually FIXED the problem and helped me.
Kami G. replied:
I love Madison women's clinic. They took great care of me with a miscarriage and my last baby. I also like Dr Jones office. My family goes there now.
Lisa W. replied:
Dr Jones was wonderful!!! He delivered our 4 th baby! Love him!
Amanda W. replied:
I've had really positive experiences with Seasons! I prefer Dr. Codd but all the OBs there are competent.
Krista H. replied:
I was seeing someone in Idaho Falls when we first moved here in Sept, I'm a hight risk pregnancy and was desiring a VBAC. The doctors there "poo poo'ed" me right away saying they wouldn't even try a VBAC so I switched to Seasons and have been VERY hap py with the care I'm receiving! I've seen Dr. Meredith and Dr. Codd, as only a doctor will be allowed to deliver me, but I've heard great things about the Midwife, Rachel as well!
Fabiola S. replied:
I loved Madison Women's Clinic.
Heather D. replied:
Dr. Codd at Seasons is THE best doctor I've ever been to. He really listens to your concerns/wishes and really cares about you.
Heather C. replied:
upper valley family practice/urgent care Dr Hopkin is amazing GREAT bed side manner
Liz D. replied:
I don't know if you would consider a family doctor (then he/she could be the baby's doctor after baby is born as well) but if you are, we have seen Dr. Watson at Rexburg Medical Center for Finch and now for my current pregnancy and we love him. He is a ttentive, friendly, considerate of your feelings and desires, and has just been wonderful for our family. When we found out I had preeclampsia with Finch he got us in as soon as possible and had been keeping an eye on it for a few weeks. Seriously, I cannot recommend him more! Good luck with your search, it doesn't hurt to shop around and see who you feel most comfortable with!!
Kathryne B. replied:
Dr Watson is amazing too. I worked with him so chose not to use him as my ob but you won't go wrong with him.

Can anyone give me good recommendations for pediatricians as well as OBGYN doctors? Thanks in advance.
Heather H. replied:
We love Rexburg Medical Center, Dr Wilde. Madison Womens Clinic and Dr Evans
Catalina H. replied:
Dr. Wilde is great! We also love Pediatrician Dr. Jason Hymas at Seasons Medical.
Jacy M. replied:
Dr. Watson at rexburg medical clinic. OB and pediatrician:) He is awesome!
Jessica F. replied:
Dr Curtis (OB) at grand peaks is my favorite, he really listens to you.
Emma R. replied:
Dr Evans or Dr Allred at Madison Women's Clinic for OB (both are great, I was high risk for a few different pretty serious reasons and felt they did a great job taking care of me/us, Dr Allred delivered my son). We started at seasons for my son but we're not impressed at all (I just found out recently we were given wrong information regarding my preemie and I'm actually pretty pissed about it, but that's on top of all the stuff that made us leave) and we now go to Dr Jones at Teton Medical. Not super impressed but it's better than seasons so we are staying until we move out of Rexburg.
Becky R. replied:
Dr Hymas at seasons is my favorite ped, I really like madison womens clinic for obgyn or Dr Leavitt in Idaho falls:)
Kailey D. replied:
I love Dr. Hoppkins and all of his staff at upper valley family practice. He's been amazing with everything I have gone through!! He's super knowlegable and very understanding.
Kendra B. replied:
Dr. Leaver in Idaho falls
Reagan M. replied:
The Pediatric Center opened up a location in Rigby (first location in IF) and they're wanting more Rexburg patrons (partly why they opened up a second/closer location.) Dr. Anderson is a fantastic pediatrician, but I have liked every Dr. in their practice. I also love that it's easy to get into and they're not oversaturated with people like here in Rexburg.
Jennifer L. replied:
Dr Codd at Seasons! He's the best
Angie H. replied:
Dr Curtis(ob) at grand peaks is amazing
Ashley M. replied:

I love Dr. Prince! He delivered both my kids and was so great about answering any questions I had! Plus I love that he is a family practitioner! He can see the baby after the bay is born! And knows about your situation!
Daren B. replied:
Dr. Prince has been my family practitioner for 5 years and he just delivered my last child. He is a fantastic doctor. We love his nurse practitioner Nicole too. The entire office staff is so friendly and helpful.
Chelsea C. replied:
Dr. Watson at Rexburg Medical Center is great
Hannah W. replied:
Dr Prince delivered my second baby (I switched doctors after baby #1) and it was the best experience! I would highly recommend him. I'm seeing him again for #3 and I have had such a great experience so far. I also love that he is a family doctor, so he took care of both me and my baby, instead of having different doctors
Jamie V. replied:
I love Dr. Meredith at Seasons Medical! I called to make an appointment with Madison Women's Clinic when I first found out I was pregnant and the lady I talked to was VERY rude to me! She was laughing at my situation and make comments like "this was obviously a mistake" when in fact my husband and I were excited to start a family. I would go with Seasons! They're very friendly and I haven't had an issue with any of the Doctors, receptionists, or nurses.
Tori W. replied:
I like Dr Jones he is a family Dr though
Michelle W. replied:
I also love Dr. Meredith at seasons:)
Michelle W. replied:
And Dr. Jones sees our daughter now and he is the best! So if you are in need of a pediatrician in the future I highly recommend him:)

Looking for a local gynecologist or OB/GYN. Is Madison's Women's Clinic any good?
**Edit: Any doctors with any experience with Cystic Fibrosis is a MAJOR plus for me.
Kayli H. replied:
The clinic is great! I never had any issues with them other than it always being busy because almost everyone goes there. I see Dr. Hopkins at Upper Valley Family Practice because he is a family doctor so he sees my son and husband as well as me. He will be delivering and taking care of our son after he is born.
Savannah E. replied:
I have heard good things about Madison's Women's clinic. I went to Seasons throughout my pregnancy and liked it too- Dr. Meredith delivered my baby and is great!
Jordyn P. replied:
Seasons for sure!! Dr Codd is the BEST.
Mikailei K. replied:
I had a bad experience at Madison Women's. Nothing life threatening but, something enough to make me switch. I love Dr. Codd at Season's medical!
Kristi G. replied:
I loved dr Evans! I now go to Dr Curtis at Grand Peaks medical and love him. I haven't gone to him for obgyn stuff specifically yet but he does it too and always makes sure everything is good on that front. He's the best dr I've ever had. I never have to wait more than a few minutes either. At madison women's clinic I'd be waiting a half hour sometimes more before going back and then wait even more in the room. That was the only negative.
Angie H. replied:
Dr Curtis at Grand Peaks Medical is amazing!
Bryan H. replied:
Grand Peaks Medical and Dental.
Norman J. replied:
Seasons Medical in Rexburg!
Megan S. replied:
I love Dr allred at Madison Women's, he is so wonderful! Unfortunately I can't recommend his colleague Dr Evans because I value truthfulness over bullying in my care providers. He's a nice man but I'm just not interested in his style of obstetrics. But Dr Allred is fantastic and I'd recommend him in a heartbeat.
Bethany S. replied:
Dr. Curtis from Grand Peaks Medical is definitely my recommendation!
ISO: a good, well recommended OBGYN. Preferably in Rexburg but can travel to IF too

I second Dr. Allred at Madison women's in Rexburg! He takes the time needed to answer any questions you have and doesn't rush you along with your appointment. We loved him!:)

Dr Watson at Rexburg medical. Seriously I have always hated doctors I don't like going but he is literally the best doc I have ever had! He's my babies doc and being a first time mom I freak about things and he doesn't make me feel stupid for asking question! He's really funny and really good with kids! I highly highly recommend him!
Courtney F. replied:
Dr. Baker in IF. He's into homeopathic medical practices too.
Lynzi B. replied:
I go to Rosemark in Idaho Falls and it is wonderful there. All the nurses and doctors are so nice and helpful. I go to Dr. Gunderson and both my sisters did. We love him and I would recommend him any day
Best OBGYN in Rexburg area? Preferably female. Thanks!
Emma R. replied:
There are no female OBs in Rexburg. I go to Madison women's clinic and love Dr Allred and the nurse practitioner Rachelle. There are two female nurse practitioners there, and the only thing they can't do is deliver babies (they can assist on c-sections though). You can go to them for regular appointments and through pregnancy though:)
Kristen D. replied:
Madison Women's clinic is the best! Dr Evans and Dr Allred are so skilled and have GREAT bedside manner. I love their nurses and staff! I've had miscarriages, health issues, 6 full term pregnancies/deliveries, post delivery issues (one of which I would have died from if it wasn't for Dr Allreds quick actions) and a molar pregnancy. I've got a lot of experience with local OB/GYNs. My last pregnancy had a lot of complications, but they were so reassuring and I knew I was in good hands. I pretty much can't say enough good things about them.
Skyler B. replied:
Dr. Huggins in idaho falls is amazing. The whole staff there is fantastic! Sooooo worth the drive.

Any recommendations for a great female OBGYN? Rigby would be great but Idaho falls or rexburg is good too. They need to take blue cross blue shield.
Aubrey M. replied:
...my post only counts if you're pregnant. Otherwise I suggest Monarch Healthcare hands down. But if you are having a baby... As for Rigby and Idaho Falls, I recommend Monarch Healthcare. They have excellent, understanding staff and can normally get you in for an appointment in one day. You'd deliver at EIRMC or Mountain View Hospital, your choice. I delivered at EIRMC and had a B+ experience. The problem is that as soon as I had questions regarding my baby, my doctor looked calmly at me and said, "the baby is out. I'm out of my area of expertise." So pick a pediatrician stat! I also felt more like my doctor didn't have time for me since they had a lot of other patients. The rooms were ever so slightly bigger here. If you want to go the Rexburg route, I actually recommend Teton Medical Group: more specifically Dr. Jones. He's a family doctor, but that means he does it all. He was with my second baby inside and out. He's attentive, cares about your problems, and you even get his cell phone number. He only takes a certain amount of women per month and does all of his own deliveries. I birthed at Madison Hospital and had a solid A experience. A lactation consultant came and talked me through feeding my rather problematic baby who was more interested in sleep than boobs. The rooms are a bit smaller, but there's also an entire corner for the daddies after delivery. The fathers and your guests can eat fruit, snacks, or anything that's there. At EIRMC, the dads had to fend for themselves or leave to get their own food.
Jennifer P. replied:
I went to Leavitt's in Idaho Falls and saw Dr. Asay and LOVED her I also saw Dr. Adams once and Dr Leavitt once and thought they were great too. I highly recommend them for sure! Dr Asay was always happy to answer any questions I had.

Dr. Leavitt or Monica Nealis at Leavitt Women's Healthcare.
Ashley B. replied:
I go to Dr Meridith in the women's clinic at Seasons and he is great. He accepts Blue Cross. That's what I have.
