McCarl Dental Group on Ridge Road in Old Greenbelt 301 474 4144. I do not know how they compare price wise. They also have 2 weekday night hours and Sat AM. Very nice, glad I found them.
Bob R. replied:
I think if you asked a number of: dentists, internists and family practioners for a dental referral, they'd give you the McCarl group. Little doubt they are the best, overall, within a good distance. They are not as "insurance friendly" as many others who need patients. OTOH, their prices come in pretty close to what most insurance pays which leaves you with a smaller out of pocket than you might think. I know among dental specialists (periodontists, endodontists, etc.) they consistently rate #1 for general dentistry. You can also get one of their "first time user" coupon packages out of each week's News Review and try them out for next to nothing as well.
Can anyone recommend a good dentist in the area? Preferably a younger dentist with a modern facility. I feel they would know the newest techniques. I've had students...
chejrw replied:
I'd be interested in this as well. Although no students for me. I know enough about how much engineering students know about engineering to not let a dental student within a mile of my mouth.
rdssassin replied:
You should try r/washingtondc they are pretty good with local things.

I used this group in January for a cleaning: http://www.thedentalgroup.com/ They're close to campus, clean, and professional. I didn't need anything other than a cleaning and x-rays though so I can't really comment on the 'newest techniques'. I got the feeling that they see a good number of UM students. Edit: Their reviews online are pretty good if you're into the whole online-review thing.
