I will email this response, but also wanted onlookers to see: care.com has the ability to handle children with special needs. They can also check with local churches and the public school's special education department.

Klub Kanine is great! Asher absolutely loves it and the staff there are so great! That's actually where he is this week while Amin & I are on vacation. I think they separate the big dogs from the smaller ones. Barkley and Rover is for like 25 lbs+ but they are the same place! The first visit is free so you should definitely give it a try:)

We used to take our lab to Barkley & Rover on Apperson Dr. He loved it there and we never had any problems

Try ACE Camp through the Roanoke County Parks and Recreation for summer camp. It is designed for school age children with special needs. It meets at either Penn Forest Elementary or brambleton center depending on the day. Ratio is approximately 2 campers to one helper. Most of the helpers are college students who plan to be teachers, nurses or therapists. Amanda loves it.

Crystal Dawn McBroom first off congrats I should have said it sooner but I'm terrible with fb lol I had the same question when Dominyk was born and what worked best for me was actual daycare. It is expensive and I was doing it and am still doing it as a single mommy but honestly they teach him so much and work with him when I can't be there to do that. In the beginning I think it's okay to have a personal sitter watch him but the older he gets and develops he'll need direction and guidance which the daycare will help out with. If you're still in Roanoke check out the Childcare Network when I had to leave my son with my sister while I deployed this place was awesome! It's a bit expensive for my budget but the facilities are great the staff are great and their curriculum is great. I dropped dom off when he was 4 months and when I picked him up at 14 months he'd grown so much with him they treat every child like family! This will be a hard decision but make sure you're making the right choice for you and your baby
