Is there a chicken vet in town. We are new to raising chickens and I'm worried about one. or anyone really experienced with illness in chickens that can help me figure...
Keith N. replied:
You might call Dr Flore out by Taft. 361 528 5269. That's where my wife took here pet duck and he's doing great now.
It'sjust M. replied:
What's wrong with the chick? I have raised chickens for about 5 years now, and Alot of information I have found on www.backyardchickens.com has been immensely helpful.
Laura W. replied:
In the meantime, go to Tractor Supply in AP and get some water-soluble Tetracycline powder and mix into the water for all the other chickens. They also have injectable Combi-otic and 3 cc syringes to treat the infected chicken if necessary
Does anyone know of a local vet that might do payments? I have a puppy who is a little over 2 months old and has suddenly gotten sick, he's throwing up and his poop...
Is there a vet around here that will bill you?
Or maybe make payments?
My dogs having joint pain & I really wanna help him before I wait for my next check.
Chris D. replied:
The BEST thing is what I have been taking and giving to my dogs. It is CHEAP and is amazing and very healthy. It is called the golden paste and you make it yourself. Here is the webpage with info and the recipe. (I was able to take my dogs off of their pain meds and I can do stairs again...before my knees wouldnt let me.) Www.turmericlife.com.au

I'm needing my Great Danes first vet appointment.
Does anyone know a place that won't charge me an arm, leg, and my first born child?
& Also, I'm looking to get him...
Christi C. replied:
Trifexis does not prevent against ticks, only fleas...and some have found that the combo of flea preventative and heartworm preventative in one pill is too strong, too much at once and is harmful to some dogs, causing seizures, kidney and liver failure, and sometimes death. Please do ur research before making ur decision. Mine take heartguard for heartworm and nexgard for flea & tick preventative. And I use dr cruser at Rockport Veterinary Clinic. He's the best.

Dr. Cruiser.
Lynn B. replied:
Rockport Vet Clinic is great and you do not need an appointment. To me, that is the best thing - when a kittie is scheduled for shots they are often uncatchable - I never knew I had so many hiding spots in my house! When I can grab them, we go. Only thing you must know - NO CREDIT CARDS. Cash or check only.
Lynn B. replied:
As to medicine - if you need a prescription in the US, I have a source I buy from that ships from the UK without one and they are much cheaper. (Rockport Vet will charge you -$15, I think - for a prescription) Message me for details.
Who is the best vet around here fo my cat need to her fixed and utd on shots, that's not going to coat an arm and a leg. Thank you in advance
Chelcie O. replied:
While bay breeze is more expensive the compassion that each pet and owner receives is above average. I've had to have two of my dogs put to sleep and she allowed us to hold each of them and stay as long as we needed alone with them. Even when Dr. Kim was going thru chemo she came up at midnight to treat one of them.
Rhonda K. replied:
Dr. Floerke in Taft
Kirby S. replied:
Rockport Veterinary on Market Place
Kirby S. replied:
Rockport Vet doesn't and does not accept any cards
Christie M. replied:
Rockport Vet on Market is more reasonable. Baybreeze WILL charge an arm and a leg. I will never use them again.
Brooke P. replied:
I've used Bay Breeze for 6 years. The care they show their clients, fur babies and their parents is above amazing. Dr. Kim worked under Dr. Cruiser who owns Rockport Veterinary. When our Jessi passed she went above and beyond what normal vets do especially since it was 9 pm on a Friday night and she made sure we had Jessi back on Sunday so we could let closure begin. I couldn't ask for someone better to take care of my babies.
Visiting here. Pup is sick for 2 days. Recommendations for a good vet? Thanks.
Carol S. replied:
Rockport Vet Clinic on Market! Dr. Cruiser and Dr. Stork are Great!!

Thanks all. Dr. Stork checked her out thoroughly. Probably something she ate that didn't agree with her. Gave her meds to make her feel better. They were great there. Thanks for the help.
Sally N. replied:
