Katrina- I am seeing a dr at the Orthopedic Institute in Columbia, I have a specialty MRI the 14 th. Theres sooo much going on in my neck I can't get anyone to even look at my shoulder or T spine, but the shoulder that's given me problems since my car wreck that I was originally told by a local doc had been broken and needed to be rebroken was never broken. Theres a HUGE bony protrusion over it and it literally hurts 24/7, The spasms all around that area knock my breath out of me at times. Come to find out, the problem is in the muscle and nerves. All of the nerves in the right side have atrophied to the point that it's basically just bone, a thin sheet of tissue, fat, and skin. The weight on the unsupported shoulder and arm are what is causing all of the intense pain. Nice to know- now just to see what they propose doing about it. I found some stretching excercises last night on youtube, did them for about 45 minutes last night- just long, slow, almost "yoga" like stretches and holds and afterwards, up to about 30 minutes ago, I had excellent movement and about hald the feeling back in my hands. It is slowly all going back to how it was, so I plan to take a hot shower and do it all over again here pretty soon. I got a little too excited and hopeful I think - but that's easy to do when you can fully extend both arms over your head for the 1 st time in years! Hell yes I was gonna reach up high as much as I could!

If heat works for you and not ice, got with the heat. You can get a TENS unit for around $50 unless prescribed by a doctor and then those are $$$. I have one that was prescribed and didn't think it did anything until I stopped using it. I would try all avenues before allowing a doctor to cut on me again. Tendons and ligaments will heal but your bone pain could be either bone spurs or arthritis since it was never corrected. If there are bone spurs, just go slow with any movement. My rotator cuff tore completely in two just from rubbing lotion on my opposite arm-although I didn't know I had a bone spur doing the cutting. I'll even send the instructions from the Ortho on how to use. If I ever need any such things again, my insurance pays 100% so they'll just give me more the next time whether I want them or not.

I can't see her because she is in the same office as Dr Northern. He dismissed me as a patient because I switched doctors so I can't see any doctor in his office.
