My daughter is kindergarten age right now, son is two. We have tried a variety of things, including My Father's World and Heart of Dakota (both of which claim to be Charlotte Mason style). Surprisingly enough, we have done better in the end just pull ing together our favorite books on subjects and making up our own curriculum. I see the logic in the advice now that others have given me, not to invest much in big curriculum packages. Most of the time we don't end up following the schedule, yet I have started using these sites as a way to make up my own list of books I want us to read through, etc. I would say for the social aspect we have found that there is so much to do that we have to make it a priority to be home one or two mornings a week to do a little school. And we don't spend longer than half hour to one hour on school, a couple days a week. My daughter has learned so much just from all we are out doing all the time- and that fits more in my mind with the Charlotte Mason style. She has ballet, swimming lessons, and American Heritage girls- which all give here many friends. For me, we attend Community Bible study- and I will say that program is awesome all around! If they have it in your area it may be worth looking into. I get what you are saying about being nervous to be home 24/7, it can feel like a lot to take on, and I've been there. Don't be too hard on yourself, remember you are your children's best teacher always because you know them best. Find some groups and activities to be a part of, some books you have some interest in reading with your kids and you should be set! I also have a homeschool reveiw blog that I use to write about different things we have tried if you are interested littledailyblessings.blogspot.com I'm sure it will go great for you smile emoticon

This a great book to get you started. I still read it every once in awhile to get some inspiration. You don't have to spend a lot of money. Five In A Row is great too! http://www.amazon.com/Charlot.../dp/1889209023/ref=sr_1_2...

Charlotte Mason and Ambleside are both amazing, but neither believe in preschool the way it is done today. Charlotte Mason would tell you to play with and read to your young children, without setting up a specific curriculum.

I use Christian Liberty Academy. They have a book in Kindergarten specifically about Nature. Its titled Nature Reader. My kids have loved this program and it's easy to use.

I used Rod and Staff. Lot's of emphasis on nature!

We use ACE. Accelerated Christian education... it's really good easy and not too much work.

Easy Peasy All-in-One Homeschool is a complete, online, Christian, free curriculum. I would suggest using that, along with lots of nature walks, video's, activities, etc. Spend your money on the trips, outings, music lesson's, etc.
