Psychotherapist Recommendation
Looking for talk Therapy for my 10 year old who has anxiety and HFA. Has anyone tried this?
Sarah B. replied:
We go to see Ashley Besso at Healing Pathways and really like her. She helps with coping with anxiety and regulating emotions.
Corrina L. replied:
We see Dr Copeland, both of them at Healing Pathways.. He is a psych, his wife is a behavior therapist.
Natalie C. replied:
Evelyn Meletlidis Zone of Regulations is a curriculum for emotional awareness how to get your body from one emotional state to another. http://www.zonesofregulation.com/free-share.html I bought the book and would highly recommend it!
Lynne W. replied:
Talk therapy has not been found to be very effective for individuals with autism. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) have research support and would be worth checking out. My child, now an adult, is using both.
Kerry F. replied:
Lynn, my son is autistic and has done amazing with his talk therapy. They incorporate Cognitive Behavior Therapy. And they don't push drugs....

Carol Titta in El Dorado Hills is AMAZING! She has helped my son with HFA and his twin brother with ADHD and anxiety. I would highly recommend her. http://www.caroltittamft.com/

We LOVE Bethanny at Cross Creek Counseling

m.attachplace.com This place is pretty amazing for anxiety. Can't speak to their effectiveness with autism but I know the owner, Ce Eshelman has a son on the spectrum. They do play therapy, traditional therapy and neurofeedback.
Many parents find working with a therapist to be helpful in their grief journey. Have you had a positive experience working with a local therapist? Would you be willing...
Amy A. replied:
I'm a fan of therapy and other healing modalities. Nancy Bethem in Folsom (MFT) is good and Heather Diamond (masseuse and energy worker) both helped me tremendously.
Sharing S. replied:
Bre Yecal we're so glad you received positive grief support at Sharing Parents meetings. Just by being there and listening, you were able to offer support to other parents, too. Amy Andrew thanks for sharing these recommendations with us.
Kurtis E. replied:
I agree with Amy. I'm a fan of a variety of healing modalities. Hypnotherapy & positive affirmations (from Circle+Bloom) really helped me to find ways to cope with my grief. I highly recommend Michelle Lockett (http://doularhythms.com/hypnotherapylife-coaching/). Although I didn't work with the following therapist, if you're looking for an MFT Michelle recommends Krysta Dancy (http://dancytherapy.com). Once I became pregnant after my loss I used acupuncture to help me during times when I felt a lot of anxiety. I recommend Roxanne Feher (http://www.eastwestacupuncturecenter.com). In addition to these methods, Sharing Parents was one of the best resources because it connected me directly with other families. These friendships have made the greatest impact on my husband and me.
Here's a link that will help you find the right fit. It shows specialities, therapies, cost, and accepted insurance. I always recommend this site instead of personal recommendations because it's such a personal decision and you know what you need more than anyone else. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/california?gclid=Cj0KCQjwoPL2BRDxARIsAEMm9 y_2 mTSM2EWGpYC4 iBMghlaT7 chvQ2OvBGjtVv-V-SVqch4 xaZdOqpYaAmNxEALw_wcB

If you’re insured as your doctor about quartet. They match your with providers that accept your insurance and are taking new patients. I believe you also take a survey about your needs. Finding a therapist with availability is really hard. I do not recommend Jessica Alvarez in Roseville.

Are you looking to use insurance or private pay?
raychie replied:
Kim Jones is wonderful and doing phone/remote visits. She had a waitlist when I first reached out to her though, took about two months for me to get my first appointment

BetterHelp has actually been amazing. They offer lots of discounts as well

Depends on what issues you are wanting to address. Each has a specialty or strength in certain areas. Ask for a telephone consultation first, many provide this service for free.
Any therapist recommendations? My girlfriend has a lot of issues and really needs help beyond what I can give. Nether of us have really done therapy before so we don't...

Does anyone have a therapist in the Roseville area that they would recommend? Private, not through kaiser.

Hie thee hence, back to the doctor to get tests for Hashimoto's and get some thyroid pills. Either Armour Thyroid or Thyrolar. Both are T3 and T4 medications. http://thyroid.about.com/cs/thyroiddrugs/a/armour.htm
