You may have already tried, but don't forget to look on indeed.com, juju. com SimplyHired etc and the job boards on the websites of the bigger companies. I spent hours looking on so many job boards in the medical field. Once I got the job offer, then I was able to get an apartment here.

Look up HVAC, as well as "heating" and "air conditioning" at http://www.whitepages.com/ then send paper cover letters and resumes via postal mail. Most hiring is done without advertising an open position, rather employers look at the applications they already have on-hand when a position opens up. Also apply to large companies and institutions that would have their own in-house maintenance staff - Portland State U., hospitals, Intel etc.

I ALWAYS recommend Jerry's Heating and Cooling in Wadsworth. They have done work for us in all 3 of our homes and I have never been disappointed. I can always trust that they WON'T do any work that doesn't have to be done (including a late night weekend call that was a simple fix and we didn't get overcharged!)
