If you're in Shrewsbury, you will be spoiled for choice! It depends what you mean by 'light lunch'. If it's just sandwiches that you want, there are lots of lovely tea rooms in the centre of town. Mad Jack's does lovely food. Armoury is also good. Both provide more substantial fare. If you want to eat in a beautiful medieval house then try Drapers Hall Buttery behind St. Mary's Church. It's a bit more upmarket but lovely. Cromwells does does good pub food. At the bottom of Wyle Cop, by English Bridge, you could try the Cornhouse. That's opposite Tanners wine merchants tanners is a must visit place - beautiful old building, great wines of all types and prices and they always have some bottles open for tasting. It's a foodie town so enjoy! (I used to live there and still love it).
