I have a policy through Allstate. I added inland marine coverage since I don't have a studio and shoot on location. Between the 2, I think I pay around $550-ish/year ($500 deductible). https://www.allstate.com/tools-and-resources/business-insurance/photographers-insurance.aspx

mine is The Hartford. I have 45K of equipment and workers comp and pay a total of about 3,000.00 per year for both with WC being about 80% of that cost.:( Gotta love CA labor laws!:(

Mine is through Allstate - its a separate photographers insurance policy and covers general, professional as well as gear and failure to deliver. It's -significantly- lower than what you're initially quoting there! www.westernphotographersinsurance.com / Howard Burkholz 801-451-8880

I did not have issues because of a Pit Bull...I had huge issues because of a Chow Chow Lab Mix. Did not matter one single bit that she might have had Chow Chow in her but she was ALL Lab in personality just the fact that she had the Chow Chow in her. I always had to rent from really "seedy" places. I paid ridiculous amounts in rent for tiny 1 bedroom apartments in horrible scary neighborhoods but I was not absolutely giving my baby up!!! I did find a room to rent in a guys house who was the absolute best roommate/landlord ever. He didn't care that Rosie was part Chow Chow he just loved her for her. After that it was really tough. I think its ridiculous to base anything on a pet's breed. I have a Pomeranian Eskimo mix now that would bite you WAYYYYY before my Chow Chow would have and nobody thinks twice about renting to me with her. Also nobody thinks twice about approaching her but nobody would approach my Chow mix. I wish people would learn. *sigh* If I had all the money I would buy homes and rent to responsible doggie owners REGARDLESS of the breed. In the meantime I just keep hoping for people to change and knowing that the more people I meet the more I prefer DOGS! ;-)
