Pet-Inn in South Sacramento is solid.

Welcome to the area! The Local Bark seems to be a pretty cool place for pet boarding. The Muller (sp?) Veterinary Center is also worth a look!

I recommend the [Dog-Woods Resort](http://dog-woodsresort.com/). Rob from the 'Rob, Arnie, and Dawn' morning show uses this place when he goes on vacation. [Here's his experience with them.](http://www.robarnieanddawn.com/index.php?q=node/7235) If you're new to Sacramento, definitely check out their show, it's on 98.5 from 5 am-10 am.

If you're okay with alternative medicine, the [Integrative Veterinary Center](http://integrativeveterinarycenter.com/) on Elvas is good; we've taken our great dane there for acupuncture and chiropractic adjustment, both of which seem to have done him well. For more traditional treatments, [Campus Commons Pet Hospital](http://www.campuscommonspethospital.com/) isn't bad. And for really big stuff like surgeries, I can recommend the [UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital](http://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/vmth/). For boarding, [Grateful Dog](http://www.gratefuldogdaycare.com/) is a nice facility run by a pretty good staff. No outside space, but it's hosted in a former warehouse, with plenty big play areas.

We usually take our pooch to Wag Hotels in West Sac...it's easy to get to off of I80 and the facilities are nice. They have all day play sessions (which you can watch on webcam), for the dogs, I believe they may take cats as well. They can be a bit pricey if you add stuff, but he always seems to enjoy his time there. As far as vets go, we really like our vet in South Davis, off of mace blvd.

Hi! I know I am two weekslate to the thread but I was looking for a different one and found this. I don't know who you ended up using, but check out Animal Den Pet Resort. Group Play time is often and included in the boarding price (29 dollars). I had to leave for three weeks and my dog stayed with them. I could not be happier with the care he received. He LOVES it there. Also they have a nice little boutique so if you forget a toy you can buy one.
Anyone recommend a great , trusting, not drain the bank dog sitter or boarder?

We use Sacramento Pet Care. Rick owns it but his brother Tom is the one who babysits our doggies. He does overnight stays which we love so they aren't alone all night by themselves. He also just does stop bys where he'll walk and feed them, if that's w hat you want. rick@sacramentopetcare.com When we used to board our dogs we used The Local Bark. It's great, clean and they post daily pictures of the dogs playing, which we used to love to look at while away from our babies.
In use a great dog sitter Lucky Buddy in Sacramento. I have used them for years and with complicated dogs and they have always been wonderful. http://www.luckybuddypetcare.com/

Cat Boarding Recommendations? I'm looking for a good place for my cat to stay for 4 days. Can anyone recommend a pet boarding spot?

I've boarded the cat at the Pet Inn on Freeport a few times. Everything was great. They're attached to a 24 hr vet hospital. http://www.thepetinn.net/

I feel like the wheels are probably the most important component to every good cat board. I would start there.

I've used Wag Hotel which seems good, also can recommend a good cat sitter if needed.

I use lucky buddy pet sitting to come in a check on my cat. I used to just leave her extra food when I went out of town but these days she needs someone to check and make sure she's OK. It's $27 for half hour visit and they'll do the food and water, clean the litter box and play with the kitty. My cat doesn't get along with other cats. She's better off staying in familiar surroundings. I don't think she'd be happy in a boarding place.

www.dogvacay.com --> love it. find a sitter in your price range, meet with them before hand, and they usually have dogs for your own to play with during their stay.
